Well Amen to that one Deano...if any game was a must win , then today is the day
So lets go get it..

Terry Taylor will make his full league debut in today’s clash with Port Vale.

Daniel Kanu also earns a starting place after scoring his first league goal in mid-week, while Michael Hector returns to the side as Dean Holden makes three changes.

Jack Payne and Lucas Ness move to the bench, while Panutche Camara misses out with a minor foot injury.

Addicks could line-up in a 3-5-2 or a 4-3-3. If the aforementioned, Hector would be part of a back three alongside Lloyd Jones and Tayo Edun in front of goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer. Karoy Anderson and skipper George Dobson, playing his 100th game for the club, would join Taylor in midfield with Nathan Asiimwe and Corey Blackett-Taylor operating as wing backs. Kanu would then partner Alfie May in a front two.

If operating a 4-3-3, Blackett-Taylor and Kanu would play either side of May, with Asiimwe dropping back into a back four.

Payne and Ness are joined on the Charlton bench by Harry Isted, Terell Thomas, Diallang Jaiyesimi, Charlie Kirk and Conor McGrandles.

Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; Asiimwe, Jones, Hector, Edun; Dobson (c), Taylor, Anderson; Kanu, May, Blackett-Taylor

Substitutes: Isted, Ness, Thomas, McGrandles, Payne, Kirk, Jaiyesimi

    Kanu deserves a start, but it’s a shame it’s because we have so few options rather than because he’s impressing more than 2 or 3 other strikers.

    Can’t see Edun being in a back three. It’s definitely a four at the back. Will be interesting to see what the attacking shape looks like - could just be as simple as Kanu and CBT either side of May…

    I would guess the Payne for Kanu sub is probably already pre decided regardless of the current result of the match. Excluding that have to hope DJ/Kirk will want to impress other clubs prior to departing before end of the window.

    There's some attacking and creative firepower on that there bench: McGrumbles, the Yellow Card Midget, Chuckles Kirk and the lesser-spotted DJ.

    I can see Port Vale running up the white flag before kick off ...

    Where have you heard that? Club say “minor” so not sure 6-8 weeks lines up with that.

    I should think Kanu will play inside supporting May, CBT hugging the opposite touchline?

    Opens a path for Asiimwe to bomb forward, then Dobbo can move across to cover.
