Newport away is as good a draw as we can get in this Cup, IMO. There can't be many Charlton fans who've seen us play there.

The ground is half a mile from the station and has a couple of options coming home if you don't mind missing the end of a 1-0 loss.

Very good draw a winnable game and a chance to get to tick off another ground to visit.

New ground syndrome might tempt me, especially with the sameyness of most of our L1 away games.

Top draw. Waited 43 years to go to Newport, albeit not the original ground where we played in 1980.

I think the last direct train from Newport leaves at 2130.

Fill your boots with the whole disjointed clip, but I draw your attention to 8.47 in.

Ditto. I think that would only leave Barrow for me.

With Charlton? That's great work if so.

Yep. But I just checked and my "92" have gone backwards recently, with teams promoted from the National League.
Now need Newport, Barrow, Harrogate, Salford, Sutton & Wrexham.
Plus Brentford & Spurs if we're talking about their new grounds.

Sandgaard was right, we’ll be playing away in Europe next season.

Barrow, Harrogate and Salford for me - impossible to have done them with Charlton tbf.

Exactly the same. Would rather have got Newport in the pizza thing, 7pm kick off would have made an easy journey back

On the Newport website it is listed as a 19.30 kick-off on Tuesday 8th August, on our website nothing.

Very tin pot but also predictable that the club haven't announced the date and time yet. Every other source has confirmed it so we've booked return trains.

FWIW booking a single from Orpington and presumably other places was cheaper than Paddington to Newport.

Still no confirmation of the fixture date from the club, despite it being less than 4 weeks away (assuming Newport are correct about it being on Tuesday, 8 August).

Very poor, given that people have trains and hotels to book.

The draw was made weeks ago, so why the continued delay ?

Feel sorry for the staff that have to field the questions from the Charlton fans.

Must be someone at Charlton who can deal with it.

Actually think we will sell most of those. New ground for many.
  • Hopefully should be a good turn out, got 3 for my group. Will be ground 86/92 for me.
