I've bought one for the first time in 20 years, and the boy. Continuing the indoctrination and time with him & grandpa at The Valley is the motive as the football is nailed on to be rubbish.
First time in 45 years I am going to leave it for next season. What has happened with the last two owners, the way the club is tun has done it for me. This season I have used my ticket 12 times at the most, the kids don’t even want to go anymore. Would rather do walk ups and away games rather than chucking another £400 down the drain especially in the current economic conditions we are all facing. Once a red always a red and if the owners cant be bothered to put their hands in their pockets then why should we?

There is also the crap journey to and from on our overpriced and unreliable third rate transport system. If I was 20, 30, 40 even and still living in Abbey Wood I wouldn't hesitate. I'll be 70 in a few months and Charlton is a joyless experience. I don't doubt I'll renew at some point, but if my Dorset born and bred son starts to waiver some time down the road that might be a natural end to it for me

My Dad's 70 and stopped going shortly before we dropped out the Prem. Said Sky had ruined football for him. I've tried several times to persuade him to go again but he won't budge.
I go on my own now but doesn't put me off going you just get used to it the more you do it and end up seeing regular faces in The Fans Bar and around where I sit.

I think there is a hardcore of support that will always buy a season ticket regardless of ownership, the dross on the pitch and the drama off it.
All the regular faces I see at Charlton, and the lads I go with have all said they will renew, regardless of the ownership, crap players etc.
I renewed the day after the renewals became available. I'll cop pelters for this but I don't think the ownership really give two shits about people holding out, getting vocal on Social Media about boycotting. Ultimately when the rubber hits the road they know they will sell circa 6000 (educated guess) and possibly more to a group of people that will renew, regardless.
I would also add I do not see buying a season ticket as "supporting Sandgaard" I think he's in the hole for about $25million, so he's definitely not taking my season ticket money and funding a Range Rover and a £10k a month apartment with it, he may use it to mitigate some of his own losses but c'est la vie. Alternatively, he may use the season ticket money to pay the salaries of the office staff, ticket office people. I have no idea what happens to the money, one things for sure it's not invested in the playing side.
To be honest I think the season ticket prices are very good value. £295 in lower north for 23 afternoons of 'entertainment' in London. That's great value.
So, I've renewed and hope that anyone teetering also bites the bullet and renews. Ultimately as RonnieMoore said it's about supporting the 11 men in red shirts on the pitch, and the money Sandgaard is burning here we are certainly not 'lining' his pockets.
