Peter Varney asking for big crowd for Brighton match (Potential Buyers?)

After last night's debacle it seems fairly likely that Brighton will humiliate us. I imagine the away support will outnumber the home support.
Won't be pleasant viewing.2 -
thankfully it's not on the box, so it's only us who'll have to witness ithoof_it_up_to_benty said:After last night's debacle it seems fairly likely that Brighton will humiliate us. I imagine the away support will outnumber the home support.

I have a feeling this game could turn out to be a new low.
Whatever goodwill many feel exists between Brighton fans and ourselves will be buried under the howls of laughter and songs of derision as we are railroaded in a sea of our own ineptness.
And the runaway train will continue. We are a long way from bottoming out I think.1 -
Charlton'll win it 6-0.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:After last night's debacle it seems fairly likely that Brighton will humiliate us. I imagine the away support will outnumber the home support.

Mac saves 2 pens - offered a new deal.
Morgan hits hat-trick - new deal.
Hayes gets the job full time - sacked at end if season.
We go on.........2 -
This is why I seriously doubt that there is a bona fide person (or persons) looking to buy us. It just doesn't make financial sense.....hence why I said you either need to do a deal with RD or wait for the club to be close to going into administration.se9addick said:

I was thinking this last night, you'd need to commit about £100m straight off the bat to get everything back under one roof and fund rebuilding the squad and everything. I just don't see it as an attractive proposition for anyone. It’s such a mess, I’m really sure what sane, non-dodgy, person would really consider taking it on.
My money is on TS still being here in May.0 -

Exactly. Let's get a points reduction and a transfer embargo. That will sort this messDucktapeshoerepairs said:

to turn the screw on TS.
The sticking point will always be the price. It always has been & always will.2 -
The tactic for Brighton is to be so bad their players can’t play because they will spend the match doubled up and laughing at our efforts.
In that situation we then hope for an own goal winner.5 -
Going anyway. I am intrigued by the whole PV thing - if nothing else it offers a bit of hope amongst the TS gloom.6

Unfortunately I think you are right. Even if someone publicly declared their interest I won’t have much faith that the deal will complete, anyone half decent will run a mile as soon as they get into due diligence.golfaddick said:

There are cheaper ways of acquiring a L2 side than waiting for Charlton to go into administrationgolfaddick said:

Realistically, how much would Sandgaard want to sell us for? He's losing money at half a million a month; for someone to take on that level of debt, they would not be paying much. I can see this as a pound sale. He might want to recoup his initial ESI outlay (was that £6m?), but the club has no assets (other than players, and they aren't worth much it would seem....) so you will not see anyone paying any more for it.
The only cost comes when you want to buy the Valley and SL; you have a c13-year lease (was 15 years) already in place, so no negotiation on that is required as of now (unless you want to negotiate with RD before he dies?).
As such, we don't need administration as we don't owe anyone anything! The sale price should be low and administration won't make it any lower...
I sincerely hope that Thomas realises the error of his ways, stops bleeding money, and sells cheaply to a decent new buyer who will fund the club in a way that takes us forwards and upwards.2 -

The Spivs weren’t the first choice, but they were the only 2nd choice. Not sure enough of our fan base realise just how desperate we were at that time. As others have said, we actually had quite a good period under them anyway…until the Cash man pulled the plug.DubaiCAFC said:Okay so PV has got Spivs and TS involved so far… 3rd time lucky I hope.
A real shame as it left the Spivs with not enough money to continue running the club2 -

Brighton are a premier league club
Charlton could still cause an upset. Football is incredibly thickle and things can change over night
Our main shirt sponsor isn't a permanent marker of the word "Shit"
All we want is for Sandgaard to f*ck off
The club is still what it is5 -
Not neccesarily. The £100m here includes a large chunk for the Valley and Sparrows Lane. Another large chunk to fund the club short term. Any buyer would expect TS to write off most of his debt. There is no large bank debt. So all you are saving are liabilities to people like programme printers etc.golfaddick said:

An administrator has a legal responsibility to get as much as he can for the assets so any players with any value may be sold.
Admin isn't an easy answer0 -
The club itself wouldn't cost £100m. People misunderstand. The club itself could probably be bought for peanuts. Well relatively to a rich person. Let's say £10m, assuming TS is a willing seller. No idea how much RD could be persuaded to sell at as he doesn't seem a willing seller. I seem to remember £20m being mentioned as a realistic price. 3 years losses say £20m and £20m player fund for transfers, fees and extra wages. That makes £70m.MarcusH26 said:se9addick said:

Oh absolutely, I don't know who would take it on when you could buy a championship club for at least half of that. I'm sure PV means well and any bidder would do full due diligence and know what they'd be letting themselves in for but the situation is an absolute mess.
Be interested to hear people's comments on my estimates.0 -
This is NOT true. The administator has a legal duty to maximise the proceeds of what he is selling. He can do this piecemeal or as a block. The total proceeds are then distributed. People like HMRC, employees and any other secured debt get first dibs then the rest is split. As the biggest debt is to TS most of this goes to him.Cafc43v3r said:
If it goes into administration Sandgaard gets nothing. It's in his best interests to give it away before it does.golfaddick said:

What a fucking mess we have become.
BHA fans’ money is as good as anybody’s
Charlton fans are apathetic about a cup competition we won’t win
Club can’t afford to be choosy about revenue
If there’s BHA demand they’d come anyway and sit all around in “home “ areas
TS made lots of mistakes but this ain’t one
Good day, sir.
Wrong? what morally?
Embarrassing? Sure. Skintgaard can't afford pride. Charlton with or without the tosser can't afford pride come to that.
A palace fan offers you an extra £15k over what anyone you like can afford, next time you want to sell your house. You telling me you'd do yourself out of those funds just to spite the 'undesirable'? Don't be daft

I still attend games but it gets incressingly painful and last night it was just plain embarrassing.
Hard to get a decent atmosphere when the team are playing so badly and lack fight.
Some of our players were a disgrace last night...0 -
