NFTs were the biggest con I've seen in the internet age in my opinion (and off the top of my head).

They opitimise greed, both from the arseholes who sell them and sadly, the idiots who bought them. I don't think anyone was actually stupid enough to believe NFTs ever had some sort of intrinsic value, but they fooled themselves that they could get rich off them.

Along with crypto coins, it's a sad indictment of a society which has very little ways for people to actually make a decent living. Personally I'd have a lot more fun risking it all in a casino than sitting in my mum's basement talking about trading candles and speaking in some cultish coin language, but hey, some people just don't like going outside.
  • NFTs were just a way for people to attempt to hop onto the next Bitcoin train and take some money from some suckers while they were at it.

Same as all of the other 'new' crypto coins such as $Trump and the like.
  • Yeah it's sad. People can get really really rich off Crypto by essentially encouraging others to buy a coin to boost it price through demand and then selling their holdings for a profit whilst everyone else loses money. People are so desperate to get on the trend and get lucky that the cycle is on repeat and the select few profit at the expense of everyone else.

None of this has any fundamental value really other than bitcoin which can be used in some instances to purchase things.

I find it ironic that bitcoin surges massively off the back of Trump. I just can't envisage such a 'patriot' ever accepting bitcoin as it would make the US Dollar futile.
  • They must be doing well - the main man has upgraded to a rhinestone balaclava now.
