Had my cancer cut out a few years ago now. I had a 1 in 20 chance of not surviving. Thanks to the NHS and the skill of Mr Cahill, the surgeon, I'm still here.
Being in my 60s, I’ve previously had periodic PSA tests. With what’s happened over the last two years I honestly can’t remember when my last one was and seeing this was a timely reminder for me. Gents, if anyone is in similar circumstances to me, it could be the best £10 you’ll ever spend.
Any idea how to get around the booking system, it won't let me as I'm only 26.
Without lying about your age I don't know.
This is rarely an issue for men of your age but I'd suggest you speak to your GP or try one of the home testing kits (more expensive I know) mentioned above if you are concerned or have any family history.

Cheers, no major concerns but as a friend my age was recently diagnosed I thought it would be worth getting checked out as I'll be at the ground anyway.
Good to see that 74 men have booked their test.no where near enough though,come on guys this might be a life saving tenner.Its 10 minutes out of your life to possibly saving it.
I am putting a few of my own facts on here,boring or not. I am nearly 78,I have regular contact with friends I have known since my teenage years,we played football,table tennis,squash and now with some of them ,golf. I am talking maybe a dozen people.of them 7 including me have had prostate cancer.Other than me ,the other guys all had major surgery to remove the offending gland.all of them did not go to the doctors until they had symptoms,and there was no alternative but surgery.For me, Charlton started their testing programme and I got diagnosed very early,no surgery.I also lost a good friend to the disease last year,one of my friends above has had a bit of a relapse,but will hopefully recover.Remember the lovely Bob Wilis and others,no one is safe,Billy Connolly,Rod Stewart,the list is endless.This cancer is one of the most common,but if treated early,is probably the easiest one to cure.I gather there is space for 400 men so plenty of availability,no excuses.
I have arranged to meet two fans next week to chat about their experience of attending our previous testing days and then unfortunately finding out they had Prostate Cancer. Luckily both found out early enough to be able to have treatment.
Please keep spreading the word.
I will always be devastated by the loss of my Dad to this terrible disease. But helping to stop other families going through what my family did is why these testing days are so important.
The game is still more than a month away yet already nearly half the places have gone. I think that’s very encouraging. There will I’m sure be more focus nearer the game and I’m confident all the places will be filled

The charity have had a tough time over the past couple of years and are unable to fund the remaining cost directly this time around (£25 in total so £6k to find if all 400 slots get booked).
We'll be doing some fund raising to make up as much as we can so also look out for that!
It’s worrying for our fan base that somebody has had to bump this because there are plenty of test slots still available. Whilst I can easily imagine why, post Christmas apathy, covid, a general male it won’t happen to me attitude, a run of defeats for Charlton even, but with so many Charlton fans of middle age and older the only thing that should have happened is those 400 test slots should have gone within 24 hours. My father died because of prostrate cancer so I’ve been testing regularly since at every opportunity that comes along. Do yourself and your family a favour, don’t be the reason your sons get tested if, god forbid, you find out too late, set an example for them of finding out early enough to sort it
You know this is going to sell out and then there will be a thread asking if anyone has any spares and another complaining that the points system wasn't fair and why did Valley Gold members get to book first.
Hi All, To raise funds for the Prostate Cancer testing day on the 19th Feb I am going to walk over the O2 with some of the 1st Team players and staff. With a serious fear of heights this will be a real challenge for myself. It will be filmed and when you see who else has a fear of heights I think every pound you have sponsored will be well worth the entertainment of watching us! please see the link below if you are able to donate.
