What the fuck in kayfab is this?

Remember when the rock took pictures of Vince and Austin right before mania x7?
  • The only major stars to leave are an EVP and the women that they pushed to the moon with an undefeated streak.  :D

Since Cody left only Cesaro has joined AEW. Somehow they've managed to use him even worse than WWE did. The tide has clearly changed, a few years ago it was the other way around.

Talents released by a company against their wills are excluded before anyone gets excited and Ali turning up on Dynamite in a few months time!

    Anyone seeing Eric Bischoff tonight?
     :D
  • Jade Cargill has been confirmed by WWE. Unless Edge goes to AEW, this is one way traffic.
Seemed to have to covered myself there. Glad to know you're thinking about me at 5:14 am though. 😳

Video announcing Jade Cargil is the WWE's second most watched of the year.

  • Massive coup for AEW. Certainly fills the CM Punk sized gap as far as household name value goes.

A quick look online it’s funny watching the anti-AEW lot try to panic cope with this one. It’s a shame really, because they could just try and enjoy a really exciting surprise.
  • By God King that's Sexton Hardcastles music!

Great signing for them, won't have the negative backstage issues of a Punk either.
  • There is a bit of a theme of wrestlers not being able to/allowed to wrestle full time with WWE, leaving and suddenly going full time in other places.

I wonder what the reason is, are they; overly protective, covering their own asses, stricter health and wellness policies, insurance problems, or just freeze them out over time?

Bryan Danielson, Sting, Saraya, now Adam Copeland

    And before them Kurt Angle...

Partly that WWE, up until the pandemic, ran 20 odd shows a week.  A full time schedule was literally that.  Since the early 90s no other company has done that.

If the people on your TV don't turn up to your house shows you are going to kill your house shows.  AEW, WCW, TNA have never had that problem because they don't run house shows (at least not to the same extent).

It's also a culture thing because there are still, or where until very recently, a lot of people at WWE who were there when it was a live events company that had TV.  AEW is a TV company that has live events.

No one wants to do the WWE house show circuit.

Well plenty of people have done it and do it.
  • I’ve been attempting to watch AEW & WWE, it’s 10 hours a week & I’ve been defeated!

Have therefore decided that AEW is my thing & WWE will be resigned to the memory bin!

Once you have a family and reach a certain age, why would you bother?

Roman Reigns can't even be bothered and he's supposed to be 'carrying the company'.

Quite why would you bother, but people do.  Lots of people do.

WWE don't give TV time, with a few exceptions, to people that won't work house shows for the reasons I said above.

It shows as well, I would bet quite a lot of money that Dominic, for example, has worked, in front of people, more than any one on the AEW roster this year amd even that's a fraction of what his dad would have done 20 years ago.

Edit: oh and if you check WWE are actively advertising some house shows in October as Roman Reigns Live.
  • I know there were rumours, but I didn't think it would actually happen.

A massive signing for AEW to be fair & fills the Punk sized hole that's been left

It was obvious once Meltzer said the Christian match was on last.

Average crowds at live events are on the up at WWE. In fact their average crowds are higher than Wrestledream was.

BD Vs ZSJ is a match of the year candidate. Hoping we see it again at wrestle kingdom.

We were meant to see it at All In!  :'( I agree, incredible match.

Osprey V ZSJ should be decent in a couple of weeks.
  • Would have been outstanding at All In had that happened. ZSJ is a prick (like Ospreay) but also absolutely captivating
  • Enjoyed the PPV.  Edge/Copeland is a huge signing for AEW.

As a casual fan, I'm not keen on the young bucks. I don't know what it is, I just can't take to them.

Don't get the hype about Omega either.  Maybe it's just me

And yet Dominik working 200 dates a year isn't getting paid much more for it. The AEW schedule is far better for long-term health and body management.

And yes, WWE is notorious for their advertising of stars that won't appear on house shows. 'Card subject to change' was always the joke.

The WWE match style* is far better for a wrestler's health

    *Excluding matches involving Nia Jax.

Really not interested in seeing Jay White in the main event picture with MJF.

Everything MJF said in that promo last week was accurate. White has all the flashy bits in his package, but when it comes down to it he’s just very generic.
