I've had four covid jabs(along with most ppl who followed the hype from the gov/media) but I'd rather not any more. Now that I've read more I'm not impressed by the lack of trials/investigation of possible side effects. Also reading that there have been no studies of the effects on expectant mothers so to answer a question on here I would not encourage my wife or daughter to have an unproven vaccine
Oh mate, if you think your wife and daughter shouldn't be taking medication that hasn't been tested on expectant mothers, I have some very bad news for you...
  • Going ahead with the flu vaccine on Saturday, but differed the Covid for a few weeks later to see how we both feel. My wife has requested the Shingles jab ( I had mine last year).Having had both Covid and 'Opthalmic' shingles two years ago, I feel I would like to see how my immune system, and general well being respond over the next few weeks.

Being over 70 I acknowledge I am in the high risk group, but been abroad for the first time 4 weeks ago, I have had no side effects, and feeling a lot better in my general  well being. Was visiting family last weekend, up north. Could not see the general public wearing face masks, the only two were mini cab drivers!. Interesting that none of my extended family up North are having the Covid Jab, but they are much younger. People seem to be going about without any regard to social distancing/masks etc, at least up there in the Manchester/Cheshire region.
I am not advocating people do, or do not take the jab, I am comfortable with the decision we have made, I only have myself to blame if I get ill.
  • Masks and social distancing are long gone, common sense like staying home if you're sick would be great though. Had 2 trolls in the school queue behind me yesterday, coughing and spluttering while telling eachother they have covid.

Some hospitals are introducing mask mandates in some clinical areas.

The wrong message is going to the population regarding staying at home if you have an illness. It should be encouraged to stay at home if you are ill, to prevent illness from being passed to other people.  Many flights were cancelled at Gatwick recently due to the number of staff off sick, many with Covid. It should be common sense to stay at home if you might be infectious.

  • Covid jab could be available privately from 2024

  • I had my Covid and flue jabs last week.

Woke up this morning with a heavy cold and irritating cough. Was a bit worried as I'm currently in Norfolk which is a hotspot for the latest Covid variant.

Fortunately I tested negative and I'm feeling a lot better this evening.

You've tested positive for Norfolk. You'll never leave.

@PeanutsMolloy you’re so often spot on re horses & football and everything else really, but surprised that you can’t see through the hoaxers like Campbell.

Had my covid and flu jabs today. Slightly achey right arms where I had the jabs as usual, all good otherwise.
  • Dr. John Campbell started his pandemic vlog by being factual, informative and helpful to many in understanding Covid and related topics. I think he and his vlog became too successful and in order to keep it going and relevant he started seeking out and focusing on quite obscure and fringe pieces of research that more and more started leaning towards conspiracy. He’s now right out on the edge which is a shame because in his areas of expertise like anatomy and physiology he’s really very good. If you want to keep up with science it’s always best to look at the mainstream research.
  • So today’s guest on the Russell Brand Podcast? Dr John Campbell.

same here - had both jabs last Sat and have had a very heavy cold since. It's easing off now but not a pleasant 7 days.
  • Just got home after covid jab. Have got tingling in lower arm and finger of jabbed arm. Hopefully this is an ok side effect 🤞

Half of my sons 6th form class have been off with heavy colds. Your cold symptoms could be related to the vaccines, but chances are it’s just a cold. There’s no way of knowing.
  • Apparently some people are testing negative for Covid at the start of their illness, but testing positive after a few days.

  • Had my Covid booster yesterday along with my Flu jab. God, I’ve felt as rough as sandpaper today. Can barely lift my head.
  • Had my covid and flu vaccines Tuesday. Didn't feel a thing when Covid  vaccine was injected into arm and then just mild arm discomfort for 3 days. Flu vaccine on other arm felt like a blunt dart going into my arm and arm incredibly painful for about 3 days and although improving still don't have full range of movement. Have had Covid twice -  September 2022 and again in May this year. First time had  really sore throat. Second time only tested because rest of family had it and I had no symptoms.
  • People are still testing for Covid?  :D
  • I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago and I've got my covid jab booked for Wednesday.
I could have had them at the same time but I chose to have them separately.
Having them at the same time seems to cause more after effects than having them separately.
  • Had mine tuesday, and they are very effective! Im now in bed laid up with Flu.

Perhaps I was lucky, but I had the flu jab in one arm and Covid jab in the other, and apart from a very slight sore arm on the flu side that evening, I had no side effects at all. My husband had both arms feeling sore for for one night, but was fine the next morning. To my knowledge neither of us has had Covid.

It takes 10 -14 days for the flu vaccine to work.

  • Both of us, had both flu & covid boosters on Friday. Herself has felt rough since then, I’m fine. She had both in one arm & I had one in each.
