It's been a shocking first 15 minutes hasn't it? Can't hold the ball for more than 2 seconds

I'm quite liking the look of Washington

Its a shame as we started the half really on the front foot

We've started playing shorter passes but very defensively minded

WE score Solidgone, WE score. Clarity of words vitally important here.

Unless he's now a Palarse supporter.

Not sure if we could have given a penalty away there.

Substitution, Crewe Alexandra. Callum Ainley replaces Luke Murphy.

Is Forster Caskey the new Ray Wilkins ? I don’t think he has played a forward pass yet

Please don't go ultra defensive. We don't need to.

Nice bit of work from Purrington there, shame Bonne couldn't quite get to the ball.

    Beckles a very decent CB.

This. He's working hard but he's not your typical lump up front.

    We're far too defensive here.

Certainly wouldn't take him off as he's the type of Striker who can be a passenger all game and then be there at the right time when its needed

Definitely some early season rust on display. A few too many loose touches and sloppy passes. Not convinced this shape suits us either, particularly Bonne as a lone striker as his hold up play isn’t consistent enough. To be fair the truncated “pre season” didn’t leave much time to polish off any rough edges. We’re winning 2-0 fairly comfortably and got to think this side can do more.

Attempt missed. Alex Gilbey (Charlton Athletic) header from the left side of the box.

Yeah still a work in progress... Should be good enough to get through September with a decent points haul but we need stabilised improvement come October's fixtures

Doing fine here. Crewe were always going to try and push for a goal this half. I’m taking it as a good thing that so far we’ve restricted their attempts on goal.

Can't believe Barker is 17. Having a great game.
