Imran Qayyum (aged 27) is playing in the current two day Kent U18 game against Essex. Seems a strange one at first glance but with no 2nd XI cricket it is an opportunity for him to get some much needed match practice given that he will be needed in the T20 comp.
He batted at 5 and scored 25 out of Kent's total of 181. He then bowled 10 of the 31 overs in Essex innings (0-20). Essex declared overnight on 80-1 and Kent will have a dash this morning in order to make a game of it.
I see Sean Dickson is having a bit of a nightmare season - to date he's scored 42 runs in 7 innings. Durham is not an easy place to score runs at but wish him well nevertheless

As it's August AND the humid/bowling friendly conditions seem to be spread across the country more evenly, you'd have hoped things would be better oop north than usual, when CC cricket is sidelined into May and June
yeah thought might as well at least have another 5/10 over slog
It is seemingly strange but with potentially 7 or 8 players on the boundary I suppose that there would have been a bit of self-preservation from the two openers given that they are the vulnerable ones if and when Cox and Kuhn return. Equally, what happens if they lose 4 or 5 wickets early in that chase?
Though they haven't all played together in the same side, when was the last time we could say that we had a top six of homegrown players that have all played for England at various levels?
1. Daniel Bell-Drummond (U19) 2. Jordan Cox (U19) 3. Zak Crawley (Test) 4. Joe Denly (Test, ODI, T20, Lions & U19) 5. Sam Billings (ODI, T20, "A" & U19) 6. Ollie Robinson (U19)
You imagine Zak will get a central Test contract now
It's difficult to see at the moment what Test cricket there will be with the Covid situation such as it is especially in India. One would think that Zak deserves one every much as Burns and Sibley but will that happen?

England once again completely rotating their red and white ball sides
The ultimate example of a team being saved by the rain...
1. Daniel Bell-Drummond (U19)
2. Jordan Cox (U19)

so we are short Kuhn, Denly, Billings and Crawley?
I see Sam Curran has been released by England to play in this match
