Fish costa fortune said, nobody wants to play in league one. referring to Lyle Taylor ?
well I doubt we will be in league One under BOWS Or ESI and yes Brentford are a great team and we beat them 1-0 with a strong squad, so why can we not do that again next season ? we too could be in the premiership in 2 years.

Fish is cheap in Palma Mallorca 😂😂😂👍👍👍
In fact, I have gone on record on this very forum saying that I believe we will still finish top half of the championship.
I can almost guarantee you, we will not finish top half this season. It would require 17 games of Champions results (better than WBA & Leeds so far).
We are 9 points off 12, and 12 points off 10th. I believe we could realistically overhaul that points margin. 3/4 win swing over 17 games is not beyond the realms of possibility at all.
65 points would get you top half. We have 30 from 29. We need 35 from 17, more than or roughly 2 points per game. WBA & Leeds haven't been able to achieve 2 points per game. So yes we can reach top half if we get Champions results for the next 17 games.
Why 65 points? It's been 60, 60, 62, 60, 64 last 5 seasons for 12th. Either way it's certainly a tough task. I just believe if we stay injury free, keep Lyle Taylor, and maybe bring in a couple of decent signings we have every chance of going on a good run.
Fair enough. Let's say we need 60. So we need 30 from 17, which currently is better than the 3rd & 4th Place teams. I'd love you to be right, but can't see us hitting 3rd place form for the next 17 games.
9 wins, 3 draws and 5 defeats or 8 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats.
2012/13 first season up with SCP we won 5 and drew 3 of our last 8 including the 0-6 win at Barnsley as we finished 9th on 65 points 3 points behind 6th place Leicester and we had a lot worse gd after a run of 2 wins 2 draw and 6 defeats in the previous 10 no need to ask who our last defeat was before that run began zzzzz
In that season palace promoted via play offs Leicester missed out in play off semi to watford wolves relegated to league one
I’m hopeful that this will be a good week. Couple of decent signings, beat Barnsley...
A couple? Bowyer wants 4 or 5.
Have you ever heard a manager, of a struggling team, say I don't want any, or one is enough?
Sadly yes. Karel Fraeye in a silly meeting, when asked about strengthening the team, said he didn't need more players as he could only field 11 at any one time. I suppose you could argue about whether he was really a manager - stooge might be a more appropriate term.
If his CV said Barca, Bayern and Juve do you think he'd be training with us?
His total transfer fees amount to £450k and has never excelled at any of his mediocre clubs over career.
Gallen and Bowyer won’t sign him then if they don’t think he’s good enough.
You would like to think so, Unless we still have one of the lowest budgets in the Championship and a 29 year old with an indifferent CV is considered to fit our profile. For every Taylor and Kermorgant towards their late 20's that have signed for Cafc we have had 100's of mediocre players who tried but were lacking. 5 days left of this window, and I can't get rid of nagging doubts. I believe in Bowyer and Gallen but what is our budget in this window ?
I also don't think we'll make top half though, nor do I think we'll be in a relegation battle.
As much as I hope we avoid it and think we should - this isn’t correct in the sense that we are already in a relegation battle.
A lot is resting on one game v Barnsley. Lose that and we are in the sticky stuff big time..... so if one game means so much I would suggest we are already in a battle to avoid the drop.
he's played for st.etienne for the best part of his career, a well established french club (who would be the equivalent of most championship and some prem clubs i would have thought) and played in European competition so i'm not sure why people think his cv is unimpressive - its whether he has the know how and grit for the championship battle he;s gonna be in that concerns me more but 100% faith in bowyer and gallen.

I wouldn't have thought the budget is anywhere near enough to squander money just to keep the natives happy. If the only decent players available at the moment, are those who want too much, there's not a lot anyone can do about it except the player or thier agent of course
bowyers concern about jumping from one level to another too quickly i guess boils down to not creating disharmony in the squad by signing players on double or triple the wages - that is the difficulty we are facing currently i assume and one we may have to risk - summer will be when the 'upgrade' has to happen across the board and we can start shopping in a different market - i hope.

ed - LB has seen him train, knows what kind of player we need, do we really know better by looking at the player's wiki?
On that note, Ledley must have looked awesome in training.
