he's played for st.etienne for the best part of his career, a well established french club (who would be the equivalent of most championship and some prem clubs i would have thought) and played in European competition so i'm not sure why people think his cv is unimpressive - its whether he has the know how and grit for the championship battle he;s gonna be in that concerns me more but 100% faith in bowyer and gallen.
I feel bad for a player who's best part of his career is 66 matches across six seasons. Mind you he spent a season on loan at Club Sportif Sedan Ardennes, "who?" I hear you all say. Best described as the French equivalent of Coggeshall Town.
These 5 days will define ESI as far as I'm concerned. Get it wrong and relegation dog fight looms.
Saying 'players/agents wanted far to much won't work. Just pay the going rate.
How do you know they are not prepared to pay the going rate? How do you know what is being asked for in wages and fees is above the going rate for the standard of player?
I want the squad added to as much as anyone but not at the risk of boom or bust approach.

To be honest mate, I reckon the lack of activity is probably more down to Bowyer and Gallen not thinking a player is worth the dough, than what it is ESI
I am surethe club are looking at a number of left sided cb's, particularly ones that can play LB. I suspect Pogba is a back up option given that he is on a free and we can sign him after the window.
Have him train with us and see what hes about, enquire about others (Kean Bryan) and if we get no one else once the window has closed give him a deal till the summer.
In terms of numbers at least this isnt our priority position.
I’m hopeful that this will be a good week. Couple of decent signings, beat Barnsley...
A couple? Bowyer wants 4 or 5.
Have you ever heard a manager, of a struggling team, say I don't want any, or one is enough?
Sadly yes. Karel Fraeye in a silly meeting, when asked about strengthening the team, said he didn't need more players as he could only field 11 at any one time. I suppose you could argue about whether he was really a manager - stooge might be a more appropriate term.
Tbf Fraeye didn't need a big squad, because he knew how to get them to run around and spread out.

I'm not sure how reliable Wikipedia is in terms of games played I seem to remember in the past some of the signings from abroad didn't seem to have played many games ever but in reality had played a lot more than shown on Wikipedia. I know there's some examples out there I just can't think of any off the top of my head while at work.

Didn’t he also say something about only being able to play 11 at a time?
When a club is doing well it is easy to show restraint and wisdom, but when things aren't going too smoothly and a manager is under some pressure from his directors and supporters, he can be harassed into buying impetuously and not so wisely as usual. Clubs who have gone on spending sprees to avoid relegation have seldom been saved by panic-buying.
Think loans will be the crucial business for us this week , unless we can get someone like Maddison over the line.
I'm not sure much will be done before Thurs/Fri to be honest
When Cafc leave things to the last couple of days we are normally the losers. The"Parkers "as the last day of the window is known by. Still think Birmingham may be Favourite for Maddison but assuming our bid is still on the table and Gallen and Bowyer still believe that Marcus can buckle down and replicate his best form, you would like to think that MM would want to work with Lee and prove his Championship mettle. Otherwise hoping our 5 injury prone players (work it out ) aren't going to break down again seems a risky strategy for a snappy ambitious owner and Chairman. So this is not just a 10.000 metre race where nothing happens until the last lap (pace maker Green obviously) but the home straight where you get bumped and shoved. Not a good idea in my book unless you have the legs(chequebook) to beat the multitude in the desperate lung to the line.

The aim at the moment is to stay up. If he helps us do that, then why wouldn't he be required as a squad player next year? He might even be a starter.
