  • Nixon. Any reason why you can't write normally? In proper sentences. Annoys me. You're usually wrong. Shut up.
Because the S*n is predominantly aimed at an audience that has a lower level of reading comprehension, and its journalists have to write for those with an average reading age of about eight. So shorter, simpler phrases are desired.

(Sort of source here, but it's something I looked for to verify something I'd heard from my Government and Politics teacher a few years back: https://www.see-a-voice.org/marketing-ad/effective-communication/readability/ )

In any case, as every football fan should attempt to do, I avoid the S*n directly whenever I can - don't give the website clicks, or generate the article via DoNotLink so it doesn't get ad revenue/appear higher up in search engines.
  • With Kane out for the foreseeable I'd have thought Spurs would want to keep Parrett, just in case.
    You can say that again.

    So we’ve been linked with:
    Idah
    Parrot
    Kean
    Pogba
    Maddison
    Mowatt
    Gnanduillet
    Clarke

From that list I would like Parrot, Pogba, Maddison and Mowatt. I think we’ll end up with Idah, Pogba, Maddison and someone who hasn’t been mentioned.
    And Greg Doherty and Clarke-Harris

    Bostock
  • Maybe he shouldn’t have been holding out for such a high amount that no club was ever willing to pay him.

He’s a very talented player and one we would like in the team, they are working back on the deal this week.

But I hope if he does sign, Bowyer sorts out his work rate and attitude. Not to mention the rest of the players will not stand for any kind of laziness or poor attitude within the group.
  • I remember falling for the load images prank 15 years ago. Got some right whoppers on twitter
  • Clarke-Harris missed a penalty yesterday.
  • That should knock a few digits off his asking price then, good lad

Hell of a save by the keeper
  • This got me, I have to admit. Absolutely excellent pissboiling

    Really?
He hit the ball along the ground, down the centre. The goalie dived, but saved it with his foot.
My 92 year old wheel chair bound mother in law, would have saved it, whilst asleep

I'm just relieved this important thread hasn't been reduced to puerile puns about parrots and other birds.

Does turning down an offer from Cafc first and then Birmingham mean that Maddison is asking for too much money to move to the Capital or the second city ?

I accept Maddison could reside in Gillingham and live in Mobile accomodation. (Other dubious addresses are available in Kent)

    How tall is she ?
Passes the CL height test 6' 6" but she is only 4' 6" sitting up in the wheel chair.

Don't get yourself in a flap,
    It's a Sunday it's pouring of rain, and I didn't mention fish.

Grumpy have you any heard any rumours ? Football concerning rumours if possible ?

Also linked to Doherty and Chirivella.
  • We can't get Troy Parrot that will mean we will have Green Parrot playing together.
We'll probably end up with John Parrot.

Chirivella starts for Liverpool at Shrewsbury. Redhenry mentioned his name a week or so ago.
  • You justknow  no one on that list will arrive and it will be some obscure josh Parker signing right on the last minute or Jo dodo, or does that only happen when duchalet hangs out to the very last moments and we miss all of our main targets.

    Oh yeah of little faith!
That is the past. Time to look forward.
  • Even just based on that Everton game and on the last 20 mins I would love that Chirivella rumour to be true. He looks absolute class!

Not watching the game but apparently his pass to assist Liverpools first goal was very good.

Guess the issue is that if Liverpool run away with the Premier League, Klopp can afford to rotate his team which may give Chirivella a chance.

Depends how much Klopp wants to go unbeaten I suppose.
  • 26 days in and until we make a permanent signing we have no yardstick to see if we have moved on from being the 24th Budget in the Championship.
    Quite surreal in many ways.
Lovely words and Matt's coming across as a great guy but...
