I'm not sure Rangers will give a toss about wether we have a replacement lined up to announce or not

Most clubs, on a social media side, have a "gentlemen's agreement" to agree when they can announce the signing. I.e we soften the blow once we can announce a signing etc.

    It's very common.

Rangers have evidently agreed to wait to announce Aribo until such time as we're in a position to announce - presumably - Oztumer, and hopefully someone else.

Well, that seems most likely, anyway
I'd have thought the Chelsea, Derby, Rangers triangle is more likely.  Would you sign for Rangers with some foreign no-mark replacement for Gerrard in charge?
  • They are waiting for him to arrive in portugal for a photo with stevie.
  • Silly boy.
  • It will probably be announced once his existing contract has technically expired

Maybe but just had a look on Twitter for what was being said about Aribo. Someone suggested the same thing but it seems Rangers have already announced one or two free transfers.
  • Rangers have announced record season ticket sales (47,747) - the fans are obviously very excited aboutAribo’s imminent arrival!!

  • I take it we are ignoring the chap on Facebook claiming Aribo has failed the medical

Personally don't believe it but wondered if that's been discussed

We're expecting a whole string of announcements on Monday 1 July then. Aribo going, new owners confirmed, a handful of new stellar signings. Thankfully I'll be lazing around a pool in Majorca with a very large gin and tonic (or ten) so will able to manage the excitement via the medium of a drunken stupor.

But on the other hand .....

If he's failed a medical for Rangers, why would we want him?

Also have a waiting list of over 10k.

We definitely would, be like the situation with Solly. Can just see it now.... Aribo to spend rest of his career at The Valley...

Just thinking out loud ... if Joe is the stellar signing of the summer, they ain't setting the bar very high

Solly knew his knee wasn’t right and actually rejected a move to West Ham years ago. The lad did alright for us didn’t he?
Aribo looked fit when he returned in Feb. Why wouldn’t we want him?
    It doesn’t mean he’s a cripple.
if he has failed a medical then it’s probable that they are renegotiating his deal.
    Makes no difference to us
  • Midfielder Joe Aribo has joined Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

The 22-year-old opted not to agree to a new deal to keep him at The Valley and has made the move to join Steven Gerrard’s side, with Charlton set to receive an undisclosed training compensation fee as per FIFA regulations.

  • Honestly the way Rangers fans have celebrated this you’d think he was a world class CM. Not sure whether that says  more about Joe’s potential or the state of the Scottish league.

I think he will do well there, but it’s important to remember he’s still a very raw footballer that as of yet hasn’t really played above league 1 level.

  • Seems that Rangers can turn him into a better player by facing the majority teams of a level we faced last season

  • They've already come up with a song for him!
  • It is what it is. Let's move on!
  • Didn't realise Southampton was full of nonces
  • Disappointed another young player gone before we see the best of them. One day I hope we're in the position to keep these players and build a side around them.
  • shit move for him i think
also for us is a shame he didn't go English as we would have received more and that cnut we call an owner might of given lee a bit
also those slating the academy wasnt joe bought in from non league?

He is going to piss over the quality of player he will come up against.
  • It's a great short term thing for him but he needs to head back south in a year or two to fulfil his potential and maximise his earnings
