Whatever you think of him from his time with us the lad has defintely had to overcome some hardships since then.

  • What is the matter with you people? He walked out on us and refused to play while under contract, and as a direct result we were relegated. He should never be allowed anywhere near Charlton. I would play with ten men rather than have him back.
Just like a diminutive RB who was our club captain but because he wasn't "needed" and he is one of the good ol' boys we welcome him back
Sorry, but that is not the same thing at all. I have already spoken to Chris, and he has promised to give me the real story of his departure and the way he was treated by the club at the time. I will be interviewing him shortly so that volume 3 of 'The Valiant 1000' will give a fair and balanced view of what happened.
what is the ETA of Volume Three by the way Ian?  Don’t want to hurry you.
Two years more work to get volume 3 finished. About 25% done.

What goal was it? I can't stand the guy so don't want to listen to his rubbish.

Thanks Ian.  I’ll look forward to it for sure.  We’re very lucky to have these volumes.

First goal for Cambridge. He sure likes talking about himself.
  • Ironic that apparently he thought he might never play again.
  • Home to Port Vale tonight. Lyle doing the club preview video.

Seems well motivated. Speaks well as usual. If only he could sort out his honouring of contracts issue I think there's definite management material there. I'll be backing him for a double again tonight.

  • No Lyle bets needed tonight , Colchesters game is off due to " concerns with the playing surface"

    Fixed.  ;)
  • Didn’t mind him winning today
How did Nigel Adkins ever manage our club the absolute chancer and king of bullshit bingo
  • Should have had a hat-trick
  • Boom!!! thank you Lyle. Bigger stakes this time too.

I bet if you tried to increase your stake to 20p that you'll have your account closed without explanation from William Hill. The reason is obvious however - they don't like big winners.

Basically riding of his (Adkins) Southampton achievement
  • Just checking in, is Lyle coming back ?

  • Just checking in, is Lyle coming back ?
Not even if you paid me big school money pal
  • Bit of a gap, but Lyle scored the opening goal in a 3-0 win, highlights show him doing some clever stuff as well on the wing letting a ball run/flicking it on into space. Been a lean spell, not scored for awhile? Anyway now 10 league goals plus 2/3 in various cups means he's close to my max prediction of 15 for season if he plays 30+ games. H e still has it, but definitely slowed down a tad.
Tough game away at Bradford next Saturday.
  • Just checking in, is Lyle coming back ?
Yep. If we don't get promoted and Colchester do. I predict Charlton fans will boo him and he will score.

And hes better than Danny Hylton
  • Oh yeah, let's rehire him as shit house coach and to bring some much needed fan and club alignment
  • Dunno who's more of a pleb, Taylor himself or King Kinsella for actually bothering to follow his "progress"

Hylton hasn't treated Charlton like shit though
Hylton does not have as much dough as Lyle.

But Hylton a coach only appears when we have injuries … Hylton in his prime was a better goalscorer then Taylor
