Back among the goals today with a brace v Tranmere. Odds of 16/1 for that helping to keep me in credit at skybet so far this season. The hat-trick was great value at 100/1 and no doubt shorter next time out.
Another goal that makes 4 for this season. Missed another difficult chance, and lost a ball in hold up play that resulted in a goal against. Overdone the pink hair, but well on course for 10/15 goals this season if he stays fit and plays.

He’s got some front, “What happened at the end, happened at the end. I don’t hold any ill will towards the football club.” If there’s any ill to be felt it should be the club towards him.

The bit that he conveniently forgets is that some, from memory I think it was three, of the outstanding games, were played in June and the other six in July. His contract with Charlton ran until 30th June, and he was perfectly entitled not to extend it beyond that date. It was his refusal to play the three earlier ones that is inexcusable. He was still on the payroll and presumably accepted his June pay packet, but did nothing to earn it. For that, I will never forgive him. One goal in those three games, and we would have stayed up.
No excuse for not playing the games in July anyway, as the SPIRIT of football contracts is that they cover seasons and half seasons, and the games in July were part of the season he was originally contracted for.
He said: “If anything, at the time of
my signing, fans were pretty underwhelmed, and I can say that without
any thought of hesitation.
“Before things started, fans would have probably thought: ‘Is that all?’
“Charlton are a big football club, so
I can’t imagine signing the AFC Wimbledon striker at 28 was their view
of going for it and having a real go at the league."
It seems like a long time ago, so my memory might be letting me down here, but I seem to remember his signing being well received at the time?

Yeah it was. We were delighted he opted for us over Sunderland.
Since refusing to play for Charlton Taylor has done virtually nothing on the pitch unlike his colleague who also refused to play David Davis, who, after a sticky period, has now landed a dream move to Kidderminster Harriers.
Somehow missed this at the time. My hometown team. Used to play football in the car park as a kid and would have to climb over the gates to retrieve stray ball. Lee Hughes started out at the Harriers too, another fine upstanding member of the footballing community.

Chris was injured and had not played in the first team for ages. I will be getting the full story from him in advance of the third volume of 'The Valiant 1000'. He was not treated well or fairly by the club.
Simply Gaslighting the reporter, who probably thought he would get the lowdown on his desertion, he clearly didn't. Never mind, Taylor's career is coming to an end and he's got to find a way to make a living for the rest of his life, just don't put 'committed professional' on your CV Mr Taylor. Now let's close the thread, it's simply giving oxygen to his notoriety.
Agreed that he has to find a way in life going forward but in earning thousands of pounds a month for many years he wouldn't give his shirt to my mates little girl because it would cost him £50, whilst climbing into a Mercedes worth a fortune.

I wished for once one if these numpty reporters actually asks the question.......
"But the last 9 games included 4 that were within your contract. Why did you not play those 4 matches...."

Oh that's all ok then.
