    So Megan's dad won't be attending the wedding ?

    Looks like neither dad attending then :smile:

    Very good.

    I think he objected to having to give her away when his price was 2,000 dollars!

    I'm begging my wife to take me shopping - that's how much I want to avoid it!

    It used to be such a special day (not least because it was one of only a handful of games live on television) - started with breakfast in the players hotel, on the coaches as they traveled to Wembley, community singing.

    God, I'm old.

    No I’m not joking @bolloxbolder not sure why you think I would be. I’m a proud royalist, lover of tradition and all things Great Britain.

    Had a great day for William’s wedding, all the family round, big traditional afternoon tea etc and have the same planned for Saturday. The sun will hopefully shine, London and Windsor will look glorious and we will once again be the envy of the world. Can’t wait.

    Could do with a hand with the bunting mate :-)

    Flying to Lanzarote. Around the time of the actual event I should be in Hiperdino picking up essential supplies. I'll get an extra bottle of Cava just to get in the mood.

    No mate its just you.

    I'm anti royalist, love my country, but can't abide the Royals and find the whole fawning around them toe curlingly cringy.
    Anyway, thats for another day, what is interesting is the furore surrounding the brides dad, he sets up Pap pictures and gets found out, then he complains that there are 7 or 8 cars following him everywhere he goes and that its affecting his mental health, now he says that he's having heart surgery because he had a minor heart attack last week, I think if you dont want be part of this circus just say no I dont wanna go.

    Me and Mrs can't wait and I couldn't give a toss what anyone thinks.

    "Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

    When Britain first, at heaven's command,
    Arose from out the azure main,
    This was the charter of the land,
    And Guardian Angels sang this strain:

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

    The nations not so blest as thee
    Must, in their turn, to tyrants fall,
    While thou shalt flourish great and free:
    The dread and envy of them all.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

    Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
    More dreadful from each foreign stroke,
    As the loud blast that tears the skies
    Serves but to root thy native oak.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

    Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame;
    All their attempts to bend thee down
    Will but arouse thy generous flame,
    But work their woe and thy renown.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

    To thee belongs the rural reign;
    Thy cities shall with commerce shine;
    All thine shall be the subject main,
    And every shore it circles, thine.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

    The Muses, still with freedom found,
    Shall to thy happy coasts repair.
    Blest isle! with matchless beauty crowned,
    And manly hearts to guard the fair.

    Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves!
    Britons never, never, never shall be slaves"

    Love my country of which the Royals are part of, the younger generation seem to be doing their part in repairing damage done by their peers. The wedding good luck to them, as I would wish to everyone getting married on the day. Will I be having a party, probably not but if people want to stand outside the Palace two days prior to get a good view, then no worries, if people want to have a party then have a great day. My I didn't get an invite to the wedding probably because I didn't invite them to mine. I'll just be out as usual walking one's corgi's ;)

    In Petts Wood, one of our neighbours mentioned the Royal Wedding on the neighbourhood Whatsapp group a few months back. Since then, it has turned into a full blown street party. Bromley Council are closing our road from 8am - 6pm although the party is from 1-5pm or something like that. They've gone absolutely bonkers: a beer and pimms tent, an ice cream, big inflatable stuff for the kids, face painting, all sorts of stuff going. We was speaking to our direct neighbour last night who is leadng the organising committee and at last count, there's 240 people coming!

    40 of the 41 houses in the road are taking part or getting invovled in some way or another...apart from the bastards at no.28 who have been trying to sell their house to property developers for the last couple of years and the developers have had the planning permission refused 3-4 times already. Miserable bastards!

    I've been lumbered into taking the photos and no doubt some will end up in the News Shopper or something similar.
