Fine day yesterday enjoyed that very much Good to catch up with AFKA, and to walk once again with TCE and his two horses one of the many pleasures of walking along with Ray and his fabulous dogs is you get a lot of comments like “ Aren’t those two lovely!” and Ray and I can pretend just for a brief moment they are referring to us! Pleasure to meet Big in Brasov, Foresthillred, Alwaysneil and Miserableoldgit, and to hear first hand of their exploits in Belgium. Top people, hats off to them. And lastly, The Upbeats, their families and the people behind the scenes who make their football happen. That’s one of the things that make this football club something to be genuinely proud to be part of, and long may it continue.
Spent about 20 mins talking to various walkers ( @AFKABartram, @Sillybilly, @DaveMehmet, @Tavern@T_C_E, @suzisausage , @les_says@Swisdom) on the way round about loads of different things, then the conversation ended up at either when's Roland going or this piece of pavement is nice, before moving on. Not sure if the bloke who when crashing to the ground on Anchor & Hope lane posts on here, hope your knee is ok.
Yep, we've just uploaded an album to Facebook (credit: Connor Holmes): https://www.facebook.com/109122789166658/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1648082088604046. As Carl and Terry have said, thanks so much to everyone who took part in the walk or donated! We're so grateful for everyone's support once again; it was a great day! Fantastic weather too!
What a fantastic morning it was. Ignoring the pain I'm in today, ignoring the football match that came after the main Upbeats match and ignoring the fact that the Trust clearly have no idea how to measure 10.27 miles, (must have been at least 15) :-) The Upbeats walk has got to be the highlight of any season. Well done to everyone who took part and/or donated, apologies for the mic problems at the beginning, (finally sussed) and I hope the lady that fell over in Westmount Rd is ok.
Well done all who took part and those who donated.
My feet are still killing me but legs are almost working now. Slept like a baby last night and suspect I’ll do more of the same tonight. But watching those lads playing yesterday made it so so worthwhile. I bloody love those guys. I almost got a bit of dust in my eye at one point......
@guinnessaddick Saw your post about "the bloke who went crashing to the ground on Anchor & Hope lane" That was me. VAR replays show I dived and I've been given a retrospective ban. Seriously though knee is fine. Frustrating to trip up so close to the finish but was a great event/walk in the sunshine. Already looking forward to the next one & will bring some knee pads for that...

Thought you were trying to get down with the kids with the ripped jeans.
If anyone got/took photos of my dogs on saturday could you be so kind as to send me a copy for their ever growing Pupfolio, I don't have to be in them, in fact I'd rather I wasn't. Ray

Sorry mate, I only took one and you were in shot...
Well done to all the walkers on Saturday. I absolutely loved it last year, meeting s good few lifers, except @babbles who dribbled nonsense in my ear most of the way. I’ll make a donation to this worthy cause.
Never realised until Clive’s post that I was walking with @rananegra for a bit, so hello mate
Yep, great to put a face to the name! I think I chatted a lot to AlwaysNeil whilst walking, only guessing from the carried scooter and comments on here? Such a great bunch of people to meet, walk and talk with whilst basking in the sunshine.
Enjoyed the walk a lot - will be better planned and join in earlier next year. My tally currently stands at 175, which should be added in to what others on CL have raised.

That looked hard work seeing the walkers come into crossbars.
