    League cup - 75 minute
    1-1 against Spurs
  • Only been able to watch the last 5 mins or so but there's no noticeable difference in level. No idea how many changes either side made

    3 Nov: Southampton, HOME, 2pm. At The Valley. £10 adult, £7 over-65, £6 under-25, £1 under-18 or student.

Parking at Newcastle has to be booked in advance and looks like it generally sells out. £6.50 from the same website as match tickets.

The league website has all the games on 3 November as 3pm kickoffs, but both clubs say it's at the normal 2pm.
  • @EpsomAddick Announcers curse! Was one of those we need to make the announcement but……. Ah well!

Games will kick off at 2pm unless it’s against a team from the North East who agree to a Noon kick off for our away visit. Sunderland didn’t so it’s a 2pm KO Sunday.

I have watched a lot of Charlton Women’s teams over the years and this one is a bit special.

  • 1-0 down early on. Very well struck free kick.
  • It's on Youtube
  • First live game for me.
  • 2-0. Charlton have been really poor so far.
  • 1-2. Good header by Barton.

    Welcome aboard.
  • watching on youtube. Couldn't make 2 games in 2 days. For some reason it has subtitles which are hilarious at times. We've been Chandler and have numerous players notably Piss and Skills. They have been Stumbles and even God playing for them. Various others which I can't remember but all add to the entertianment!
  • Improved as the first half went on. Keeper should have done better with their first, had time to take a couple of steps.
  • Sunderland are doing a Blackpool, on the floor all the time! Bring on the stretcher...
  • Lots of pressure but up against a very disciplined defence. We've picked up a couple of yellows dealing with dangerous counter attacks.
  • 2-3 sunderland
  • Now losing 3-2. Sunderland went 3-1 up with a well worked corner. Pulled one back when the ref allowed play to continue while 2 Sunderland players rolled around claiming injury.

There is going to be about 20 mins injury time at this rate.
  • Great comeback to keep our unbeaten run in the league going 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • Sounds like it wasn’t the best performance, but the good thing about this side is they’ve shown they’ll keep going to the end and so you always feel there’s hope they can get a result. Even when they’re 2 down with ten minutes left. 😎
  • Well, the winning run had to come to an end at some point.

As others have said, quite a lot of that was poor. We didn't create many chances until we were chasingthe game, but the main problem was defending set pieces – OK it was a great free kick for their opener, but their second and third were preventable. And Mel Filis... man, she's such a frustrating player. One moment she'll pull off a great bit of skill, the next she'll pick completely the wrong pass or shoot from way too far out.

The main positives were Jodie Hutton, who put in a superb cross for Kayleigh Barton to pull a goal back before half-time and was always an outlet for getting forward, and Karin Muya, who scored twice and caused them problems all afternoon (though why the keeper came so far out of her goal for our equaliser is beyond me). And credit to the team for fighting back to get a point, especially without Ellie Brazil.

Next in the league is London City Lionesses next Sunday, which will be a huge test.
  • Sounds like we had a poor game but we’re still unbeaten and top of the league. Hard to complain about that
  • Think we showed good spirit and determination today. First time in a long time I've watched any Charlton team and even when we were loosing I thought we could turn it around

Got my ticket for next week as Bromley is quite easy for me to get to
  • Disappointing not to keep the 100% record going but at least they displayed the character to fight back for a point.
  • Not helped by Ellie Brazil our leading scorer being out because of concussion and a broken nose. It was sustained in the Spurs match on Wednesday.
  • As shown last season, we have a mediocre manager. We are likely to finish 3rd or 4th again this year.

Sunderland had 3 points from 3 games before today. We have to be almost perfect to go up with just 1 promotion place.

    I don’t she ‘Has it! I’m afraid.
  • I think that's the sort of game we used to lose when we were playing at the Oakwood. At the Valley it's easier for the crowd to make some noise and encourage the team when the situation's not good, where at the Oakwood things tended to go quiet. Apparently only 534 there today but it felt like more than that.

Is that the general consensus?  I thought most thought the was doing a good job?
  • Personal opinion based on what I saw last year. Probably not popular with the start we have had. I do hope I am proved wrong.
