I stand to be corrected but didn't she live in a posh flat in Docklands? God knows if there is an equivalent area in Sheffield but I somehow doubt it. As I can't really see her living in a 2 up 2 down terrace I can only assume she will be 'working from home' a lot. Maybe that is the best Sheffield can hope for as in my experience people who 'work from home' never do that much.

Lots of beautiful countryside not too far from Sheffield. Nice little cottage in the country, half hour drive to work in her top of the range company Beemer, missing the commuter traffic by rolling in at 11AM, off like a robbers dog at 4PM... Sounds perfect for her.
Losses were £14 million? Significantly higher than any other club being run on a similar financial footing in the champ.
After the June 30 deadline for 15-16 accounts they received cash to the tune of +6.1M for the sale of Gudmundson, Pope, Cousins, etc. This was listed in the notes to financial statements. This will show up in the 2016-17 accounts due in April. Also, the sale of Lookman, which appears to be between £9-10M, will also show up in those same accounts. Meaning that accounts for 2016-17 might well show a.... profit.
And to correct you, operating losses for CAFC in 15-16 were LOWER than the average Championship club that season. The operating loss at CAFC was minus £12.8M and the average in the Championship was -£14.2M. These two data points were even listed in the official release of results in April. You can look it up.
For someone looking at her financial resume, they will see losses of £13.5M one year (very average result for The Championship) contained and brought down to break even, and maybe even profitability the following year, all while being relegated. There are owners bad enough to find that impressive. And obviously, she found one. If SW did not hire her, I bet others were in line to do so.
You are arguing with me for reasons I do not understand. I simply said that there are owners who would find her CV attractive. I was correct. Obviously, because she got the job, LOL. Whether they should or not is not relevant to my point.
What was the average turnover on which this average operating loss was incurred? How did this compare with Charlton’s turnover in 15/16?
You can argue that this was offset by 16/17 transfer income but that won’t affect the operating loss. The players can only be sold once.
You also have to balance loss against performance. A team may have list £14m or more to reach the play-offs or even gain promotion.
We were relegated.
It was also the publicly stated strategy of Meire and Joyes' to break even.
I wonder if she will be allowed to roll in to Hillsborough half an hour before kick off as she did many times in SE7? Or start her working day at 11 and go home at 4?
Leave off, you only did 3 till 5 every other Saturday and some occasional evening work.

About 5 miles from Sheffield is a lovely village called Dore. Bryan Robson has a penthouse there and Gary Megson, Dave Bassett, and Chris Waddle and Jessica Ennis-Hill all live there. I'm sure they woul love to have KM as a neighbour!
It's Sheffield Woensdag, not mercredi ... she speaks Dutch, not French. ("oe" is pronounced as the "u" in orangutan) Anyway .. I'll explain it in detail when I come over to pay for that beer to a couple of you, when RD sells up
Cheery article from Newshopper who report that the Meire resignation came as a surprise to Duchatelet. Newshopper did break the news that Meire had another Job.
If this is all true then Daisy might actually have been the one to finally kill old Roland off. She was an absolute nobody in the footballing world - I don't mean that as a dig at her, I mean she literally hadn't been employed anywhere near football until Roland decided to give her a chance off a speculative email. He then made her CEO of his new club in a new country in one of the most exciting cities in the world despite her having zero experience of running a business day-to-day, and regardless of how many times she cocked up, be it PR-wise or on transfers (ludicrously long contracts for bad players, incredibly low transfer fees for outgoing talents) he kept backing her. And this is how she repays him; jumping ship to another job while he's in the midst of trying to get the hell out of there and could probably have used her sticking round to keep him informed of what's going on at the club. I never thought I could feel sorry for Roland - and I was right, I still don't - but I bet the old goat is bitterly disappointed the see this happen. The whole point of his strategy of over-promoting absolute morons is that he always has their loyalty. The problem with always patting your staff on the head when they screw up is they end up getting the false impression that they are actually good at their job, and it looks like that's backfired here as her already massive ego has floated her over to Sheffield. There's that old saying 'you don't owe your employer anything' but in this case she really, really, really does. Given that he's now potentially thinking of lowering the asking price I'd love to think that losing his only remaining ally at the club has finally convinced him that it's really time to cut his losses. It's like Julius Caesar at Charlton right now.
On the Sheff Weds side of things, I actually really feel bad for them. I quite enjoyed the rivalry we developed when we were both in League One. Given how difficult it can be to get excited about things in the lower leagues sometimes it was good to have a bit of needle about some games, and the way the two teams pushed each other in 2011/2 really added to the excitement. Sounds like they've got a bit of an ongoing situation with the owner and it all looks a bit Charlton-y, which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Hopefully without having Roland there to brush her mistakes under the carpet she won't last too long and Weds can get back to being a normally run club.

Hillsborough is close to the posh bit of Sheffield and some very nice places - more big house than Docklands Flat, but not a hardship post at all.

The nose on the lucky Kat started to grow as the Owls lost six games in a row. she then hired Karel Fraeye as Boss and ended up with a twenty game loss.

So funny that the threads about her have gone. It's started....
Yes the one I was reading last night has deffo gone. I think we should try to have a chat with the admin guy on Owlstalk who posted up the vids and everything. I can see that there is a user on here with the handle @owlstalk (but banned!) . There was also one @owlsonlineadmin but that might be a a different board.
I know some people here are not well disposed towards that group of fans, (and clearly in some cases its mutual) but from what I saw on the Owlstalk thread, it's much like on here, the vast majority seemed decent and want the same things for their club as we do for ours. If it is true that he has had to delete that thread, for the reasons we suspect, that is simply outrageous (as I saw nothing there that was remotely libellous or abusive), and we should help them resist.
I read some talk on there late last night (1am ish) of making the threads members only. I guess that's probably why we can't see them.

I get the impression from that article that:
1. Roland still had the £50,000,000 figure for a sale until quite recently.
2. Katrien has fallen out with Roland, hence not telling him about her new position.
3. There's been a complete breakdown of communication between Roland and Katrien.
It's pure guess work, but I wonder if Katrien got tired of being promised "a sale will go through and this will be over soon". Realising she was being strung along and used as a human shield, she finally decided she had to get out as soon as possible - and managed to blag her way in to SWFC.
Roland, realising he'd lost his useful idiot - albeit not realising why - decides to bite the bullet and accept that he needs to reduce his expectations and pull out as soon as possible. So he reduces the asking price.
In a rather ironic way, that would suggest that Katrien may be the one who has finally forced Roland out. It would also support those of us who always felt that getting Katrien to resign would not only be healthier for her, but would also incite a speedy withdrawal by Roland.

Interesting. There's a rumour (which I don't believe for one second!) that Jose Riga is to been appointed, it's doing the rounds on Twitter at the moment.

Been ill for last couple of days and missed the game yesterday and off work today so just catching up on all this and the result
For me I’m kind of done with her now. She’s no longer our problem and I’m just pleased she’s gone. As bad as she was here she may go up there and do a better job, but I doubt it
It makes sense that she’s got a job working under another billionaire foreign owner who it seems has bought a football club as a toy, could never see her record making sense to a competent owner with a genuine idea on how to run a football club

17 hours ago, Tyto Alba said: If you're asking why Chansiri employed her then you have to look at what she did well at Charlton. What qualitites did she show there?
She didn't mind being universally hated by the fans, was prepared to lie to the supporters and just carried on doing what the owner wanted no matter how bad things got. Those were the things she did successfully and must be the reasons for her employment. Hi folks. yeah I am a Charlton fan, and I have read all of this thread, but I am quoting Tyto Alba because I think it is the most concise and precise summary of the reason why Katrien Miere has pitched up at Sheffield Wednesday.
Let me say from the outset I regard Sheffield Wednesday, the city, the ground, the history and everything else to be a classic proper football club. And a big football club too. I also get that one would want to welcome a newcomer and hope it will work out well.
Perhaps it will.
Fresh start and all that, and to have learned from her experiences at Charlton, who knows some magic might happen for you because of Katrien, but you all might be wise to learn from the sheer weight of evidence you are getting today. One poster on here said if only a quarter of it is true they would be very worried, however believe me there is more out there than what you have learned so far.
Please allow me to firstly deal with the FA Board 'appointment'. I believe there were four vacancies for representative from league one (maybe league two as well), as only two people expressed and interest, one being Katrien, she got the gig. However when there was a vacancy on a Football League representative body she withdrew from the election as it looked like she would get no votes, and I believe the bloke at Walsall was overwhelmingly elected. This is all a matter of record.
Then there is the matter of match days.
There you have Hillsborough waiting for a 3pm kick off. The head honcho is the CEO right?
So the programme sellers are out, stewards there, ticket offices open, club shop, catering on the go, visiting teams and directors arrived, match officials, sponsors who are putting loads of dosh in, the stadium rounds to be done, toilets inspected and so on. A thousand and one things for a CEO to attend to, or have oversight of, or make decisions about, and loads of the staff will have been on the go from as early as eight or nine o'clock.
At Charlton Katrien Miere would regularly, no usually, walk into the stadium at between 1.10 and 1.20pm, way after everybody else except regular fans turning up.
Maybe that sits well with you, well oiled machine and all that. Maybe you have a board of directors to spread the work around, especially the sponsors meet and greet and suchlike. Our board consisted of three people. One always in Belgium, on ex owner Richard Murray, and Katrien Meire.
On the plus side Katrien Meire on first meeting certainly can charm the birds off the trees, people who she wants to let in will love her. Fans will josh on message boards about how they would like to bonk her because she is fit, she will also latch on to visually rich and obviously successful areas of your club and want to pass it off as her own work, or make out that she is wonderful by allowing such stuff to happen in the name of Sheffield Wednesday. I also expect Katrien to select one area of Hillsborough to be amazingly cheap and boast about affordable football. (I was getting over 60 concession until she bumped that up to over 65's). Katrien will join in club sponsored charity events too, good personal profile material.
Who knows it might still all be wonderful for you, but i still think it might be wise to examine the evidence.
Allow me to leave you with this.
You know how deep inside your love for you club is, the same feeling fans everywhere from Plymouth to Carlisle to Swansea to Norwich to Sheffield Wednesday? It is personal, it is family, it is history, it is passionate, it is a feeling in your deep hearts core?
Well I had a Charlton season ticket for 44 years. Forty flipping four years, through promotions and relegations, through playing at Selhurst Park and Upton Park, through job changes, the birth of my son who I started taking under the age of one, I loved it all, loved my football, loved my Charlton...as you do Wednesday, as fans everywhere have that deep thing. Well last season and this, after all that time I simply couldn't bear to bring myself to get a season ticket. Nothing to do with money either. Me. No season ticket, Can you imagine what a wrench that is? Can you imagine doing that yourself?
I go match by match, but felt that getting another season ticket would validate Katrien Meire and her behaviour. I ache for the moment this lot are gone and I can get my season ticket again.
Be vigilant and don't end up like me. Tyto Alba has it sussed in one.

That is only when they are the football club...Sheffield Wednesday.
Football cloob Sheffield Meire-day is not a rival. They are not themselves anymore and they need help in order to be a competitive normal club again.
My main concern for them is that the chairman stated it was either...have no CEO at the club or have katrien Meire.
It was either her... or no one. It's a very specific odd narrow choice.
What does it mean?
It's not good news for them.
They need a new owner and they need one fast.
Good luck to them.
