Always thought we were a defender short and this proves it. Can't complain too much as we had a much better summer then I expected.
Although Mascoll is inexperienced, I think he needs to give him a chance. Given Page's history, huge risk playing him IMO. Having Pearce inside of Mascoll will really help him out.
I thought this might come back to bite us as some point, if he’s not properly fit , then surely someone else has got to play in that position instead?
Agreed, yes he is our only senior Left-Back but if he's not fit, better to miss him for a couple of games then potentially have him out for months. Mascoll sounds like he is a decent prospect so has to worth a game.
Defenetely need cover at left back and in an ideal world centre back as well but I can’t see that happening unless Bielik has a set back or Pearce damages his knee further.

Asked by the South London Press if Page’s season was over, Bowyer said: “I haven’t got a clue.
“I hope we do. I’m told he will be back before the end of the season. But I’ll be honest – I don’t know. Because I was told we were going to have him back a long, long time ago.”
I appreciate the honesty from Bowyer, but sometimes you should know certain details about your playing squad. This is one of those times. The medical team have to know roughly where Page is with the injury, surely?!

Cory Gibbs, Kelly Youga, Ahmed Kashi and going back even further Garry Poole.
That's without thinking too hard.
The Charlton Medical Department is and has been a black hole. Players enter and never emerge.

Patrick Bauer in our relegation season too. IIRC he was initially diagnosed with an injury to be out for a few weeks which then turned into a season ending injury and just about coincided with our collapse in form and relegation to League One.

Just one of those days for him.
If Pagey has to miss games and Bow thinks Mascoll is not ready ...... maybe Solly will cover LB, and Dickie Dijksteel comes in at RB.
“I’m hoping we’ll have enough go away in the international break and he can have 10 or 12 days for it to settle down a bit.”
