  • 1706, Twinings opens the first known tea room in The Strand.
  • Rest assured Roland will drag this out and make us all suffer as long as he can, once he has sold ,his main source of enjoyment is gone.
  • Surely, not even Roland can screw this up.

He must know that (no thanks to him) this is his best time to sell the club for a decent price.

    Now or never Roland.
    I agree.
Unless he is a spiteful vindictive bastard who likes to see us suffer.
  • Where’s Jim White now when you need him to get RD on the line to explain why he is turning away genuine credible offers for the club that would save us from our current shit show.

The 30th June deadline deadline has suddenly flushed a few potential buyers out,  I am aware of some other interest not previous mentioned
This is what worries me. RD would love a bidding war.

rest assured the club will be sold very soon :)

    Enough already.

The thread is is a bit more serious now.
  • Poor Aussies will be gutted if they miss out after waiting for 2 years

Maybe today will wake them up a bit.

    And its still there .

Been hanging around like a bad smell for ages.
I'm guessing promotion put a huge spanner in their pretty pitiful attempt.
  • The club has a price around the £30m mark that potential buyers seem willing to pay. Duchatelet wants a lot more and it is highly unlikely intelligent people will buy us at the price that has been reported he wants.

He can and probably will out of spite .
  • I'm never usually hopeful. Always negative.

I genuinely feel optimistic about this. Just have a good feeling!

    Give it 24hrs
  • Can confirm this one has legs, been keeping that close to my chest for months
Dalman on the left. Who’s the other gentleman?
    William McGonagall.
    He wrote this poem:

There was a young Belgian called Roland Duchatetelet,
Who said he would sell Charlton without dismay.
He said there must be a buyer out there somewhere,
But none would match his asking price I do declare.
Everyone who tried negotiating with Roland found that he had lost his reason,
With the result that he will be with us for at least one more season.
    That is perfect.

His electronics business aside, can you find anything in Rolands past that he hasn’t screwed up? He’s the poster boy for failed big ideas.
  • Has Duchatelet or LDT released their “these things take time” statement yet?

Basically confirming what some on here have thought, the Aussies don’t have the cash to be a viable option.
So maybe Roland will drop them like a lead balloon for this guy?

I seriously don't think Roland operates out of spite. His motivation is to make as much money as possible. He will sell to the highest bidder, or one that allows him to retain the Valley and training ground,  when HE decides to.
He operates out of having lost his marbles.

Yes. He definitely doesn't do loyalty or sentiment

He obviously has few scruples so why should he worry about dropping anyone if someone with a bigger offer comes along?
