Can confirm this one has legs, been keeping that close to my chest for months
Dalman on the left. Who’s the other gentleman?
William McGonagall.
He wrote this poem:
There was a young Belgian called Roland Duchatetelet, Who said he would sell Charlton without dismay. He said there must be a buyer out there somewhere, But none would match his asking price I do declare. Everyone who tried negotiating with Roland found that he had lost his reason, With the result that he will be with us for at least one more season.
I wouldn’t be rushing to hand my notice in if I were you.
William Topaz McGonagall (March 1825 – 29 September 1902) was a Scottish weaver, poet and actor. He won notoriety as an extremely bad poet who exhibited no recognition of, or concern for, his peers' opinions of his work.
i.e. It's not that William McGonagall in the picture.
I actually believe it could have some legs... It would be fantastic if it was something to get excited about.
I can never be too excited as Duchatelet could still frick us over.
Not come out of nowhere, I'd mentioned Cardiff interest previously as had others. Though I had been told that the price had been mad and off putting. Whether the price has dropped or the promotion has made it more attractive I don't know.
So the price for the Aussies is 33 million plus ex directors loans of 7 million = 40 million
The price for Dalman is 65 million which is all inclusive (including the loans to be paid)
Seems fair.
It isn't. He bid £30 million
That's just my sarky reaction to the 65 mllion which suddenly became the figure when we were a League 1 club and some CL members started a bush fire with.
Why would Duchatelet accept 30 million if as we have been told 33 million was agreed.
We always come back to the £7 million loans. If Dalman pays the 7 million loans on top of the 30M does he become favourite ?
If Dalman doesn't need clean titles does he become favourite ?
Will Sale of Charlton thread get a second series ?
a little less sure now on ITTV the standard article seems to have made the chap from Cardiff unsure. sounds like the next 48 hours are huge. Bowyer contract and takeover
Dalman’s name has been rolling around for a while. I had it but I couldn’t use it because it was given to me by two other people trying to put together their own stories. I did some digging and was told that he had been interested before and that the connection at the time was Tony Jimenez.
That’s why when Tan’s name came up last week I could say that it wasn’t him, but couldn’t go any further. I went as far as I could in the story I put out on Monday.
It looks to me as if Dalman realised his name was going to come out and decided to manage it at the Welsh end, or perhaps the digging at this end tipped them off. Either way, I’d be confident they haven’t run it without a solid source their end.
There is no shortage of interest in buyIng the club. The issue is Duchatelet.

Looks like he’s definitely leaving us (sad face).
I’m meeting someone for breakfast tomorrow who may know more.
Times they are a changing.
Make of that what you will.
I don’t think I can make of anything more haha!
its nice hearing of another name on the scene, that can only be good, and there isn’t anything in this one to make you immediately scream Noooo.
However I suspect the name leakage now is probably for non positive reasons (an impasse) rather than it being imminent.
Who knows though
One minute it’s ‘yeah’ next minute ‘boo’
fecking rollercoaster!
😘
