I ain’t gonna get too worked up about this, one way or the other. Sounds like he made some serious errors at NF.....about all one can say (should this all come to pass), is exactly what role is he planning to take on? Hopefully somewhat different from how he went about things at NF........I am going for a “just don’t know what to think” stance and sit somewhat boringly on the fence. Que sera sera.
I’m prepared to give him a chance! Get of round and see how it goes
A lot of us said this about RD when Standard fans warned us. I’m not sure the EFL can pass this bloke there is a lot of attention on them at the moment.
He's already passed the test to own Forest and unless there are criminal convictions, bankruptcies etc he'll pass with flying colours.
Prior to Forest, from 2010-12, he was president of Kuwaiti side, Qadsia SC who won two Kuwaiti Premier League titles and two Emir Cups along with the Federation Cup and the Super Cup.
Taking the criticism with a giant pinch of massive-club-itis and an even gianter pinch of casual Islamophobia
Islamiphobia? Wtf lol
To be fair a forest fan on twitter said to wrap ourselves in bacon and chain ourselves to the gates... easily could be seen as Islamophobic. Or just stupid.
Id be very surprised but are we sure this isnt the Middle Eastern that @RedHenry has been hinting at for months?
I know he said they were Saudi but may have got the Nation wrong seeing he said we'd know the person if the name was put in public domain, i.e. Not many Saudis out there that Id recognise by name to be honest
Ok boring stuff I was told a few years back when he was at forest interviewing someone to work for him , this is third hand . He was very eager to get the prospective employee to guess how many Ferrari’s he had , think he had 30 or something ridiculous. He gets a budget of £10m (think that was the number) a month from his family and was happy to spunk a mill a month on forest .

It wasn't this lot. It was a very important Saudi
Who I take it is now completely out of the picture.

Andy Reid is quite complimentary and the other article where Fawaz says he’d learn from the mistakes he made are comforting. RD can’t learn because in his deluded mind, he hasn’t made any
Personally, I’m open minded at this stage. One of the great things in life is the ability to learn from previous experiences. Some do and positively adapt, some don’t and repeat mistakes.
Much of the dislike from Forest fans stems from the second half of his ownership. This interview when he is two years into his ownership is a decent read imo.
One thing is sure, there’s no doubting this guy has the funds
Well he said this, which shows he has more self awareness than Douchebag.
"In football, some people can't take it when negative things are said about them. Not me. I like it when people say negative things because sometimes it makes me wake up. The man who says something bad about you, maybe he is right and maybe you are wrong. Maybe you can learn from what he says. I am not a god. I am a human being. I make mistakes. Everybody does."
Hasawi is absolutely committed to the idea of success. It is an obsession

Bin Laden, but he is rather dead.
The family business Bin Laden Group is a major Saudi engineering/construction conglomerate (though the nature of Saudi business means they have cash problems quickly - in the last year the Crown Prince was withholding payments and they were in serious trouble).
I did jokingly suggest them as possible owners way back when Saudi interest was first mentioned....
Under normal circumstances I’d despair. As it is, we have to be open minded and hope the bloke has learnt from his mistakes.
Yes he d*cked around at Forest towards the end of his reign but Roland has been demonstrably worse for us than Fawaz was for them - for one, we’re in the league below them these days. It’s all about perspective.
I hope he comes in with his ears open and harnesses the strength of our talented, industrious fanbase but we would have to wait and see.
I’d be interested to hear where it all started to go wrong for him at Forest and what the warning signs were because by the sounds of it, his ownership started very positively.
Hard to say. I remember at the time he took over that the media were likening it to the Man city level of things. It was around 4 years after so now doubt The forest fans would have got washed up in it all and when it started to turn a bit sour they felt aggreived. I haven't read enough about the complete goings on. It does sound as though he at least took a vested interest in the day to day runnings of the club. Whether that was an ego thing, he was on the fiddle or just genuinely interested I don't know. He sounds like someone who had a bit of direction and was trying to make a go of it.
Compare that to a man who bought into football without having an iota of interest in it.
When he landed from Planet Roly RD was understandably given the benefit of the doubt, but from the off Standard's fans had him bang to rights. This time I'm not inclined to ignore what the Forest fans are saying. This new bloke sounds absolutely like RD's dead ringer, ditto his mate and KM, so if you don't mind I'd like to start panicking right now.
We're turning into Portsmouth but with no guarantee of the Hollywood happy ending.
History of CAFC in ten words : Murray - Takeover Spivs - Fakeover Doucheman - Makeover Fawaz - Sheikhover It's over
(Note - apologies : before anyone gets upset I know he's not a sheikh but it's the best I could do, ok?)

Not to be sniffed at.

However, he didn't get Forest relegated and I don't recall Forest's supporters boycotting.
So surely he can't be quite as bad ?

Let’s be honest - it wouldn’t be Charlton if it were done in a straightforward manner

The Warnock story sounds very much like our interaction with Wilder a couple of years ago.
