The problem at the moment is that many of our players are just not quite good enough.
Novak, Magennis, Watt and Ajose: Average at best.
Crofts, Ulvestadt (although he is improving), Forster-Caskey, Byrne: Mediocre.
Bauer, Tex, Chicksen: OK on their day, but prone to mistakes, and a tendency to back off when they should be tackling.
So we have Holmes, Solly, Jackson & Phillips who are at a slightly higher level.
Players of the season for me were Lookman and Holmes, with Mavididi the one loanee I really wish we could have kept.
In quite a few games since December we've possibly had a decent share of the possession, and sometimes the majority of the chances. But if you can't put them away you might as well forget it.
Struggling to see how Robinson remains. All I can think of is that either Duchatalet is keeping him to punish supporters or Meire has read an article about how clubs need to stick with managers longer than they are. The latter would be all well and good were it not for the reality that fans and seemingly players can see Robinson has no substance or skill to back the stream of garbage he spouts.
Or he plans to sell the club soon and has decided the next man can pay the compensation.

Nailed it, spot on resume of our season. We have been very unlucky with injuries but your summing up is bang on. Often too good for many of our opponents but if you don't score, all the effort and possession counts for nothing. Trouble is I can't see it changing between now and the end of the season.

Byrne was good on the wing, but agree mediocre defender.
I said over a year ago that a boycott was the only possible chance of getting Roland to sell. The I was told by many on here that the demo's and Card were winning. If it's only 85%-90% effective: for God's sake boycott now
Out of interest, in what way is the boycott effective? Over a year ago we were in the Championship, we are currently in the 1st Division and rapidly heading towards the 2nd Division where the business model of bringing youth players through to sell them on probably works even better. Roland and Katrien are still in situ. By all accounts it looks like RD's personal wealth is outstripping any loss of income from the unquantified number of boycotters that may be withholding in the form of their ticket money and the outlay/loans being made to the business that is CAFC; and despite countless 'rumours' that there are buyers lining up to take the club off RD's hands in all reality it's probably total BS until proven otherwise. Boycotting just means out of sight, out of mind.
What's your alternative? And I never said that a boycott is bound to succeed ..just that if any action is to be taken, it's the only worthwhile one. You have just listed all the reasons that support this!

I've always maintained the personal view that a boycott is self-defeating. Fans not going anymore because the team is rubbish and got relegated is the main reason gates are down so anybody genuinely boycotting is statistically lost in that one realism. I think we can all agree that it's more likely the trips to Belgium grab Roland's attention more than an undetermined (?) number of fans boycotting.
Had gates been higher and the support for the team a lot better I think people would have taken a lot more notice and, who knows, some of those draws could have been wins.
As things stand, there's an alienation of fans going on that's running things down even more. We're almost at that point where the team could be moved from the Valley to a much smaller stadium and the financial numbers for playing more lower-salaried youth prospects in the shop window with a view to selling them probably start to look even better. Go down this season and playing almost the entire youth team instead of having an expensive first team squad and moving to a 4K capacity non-league ground instead of playing at the Valley might not be that far fetched.

no, we don't all agree. People like Roland can take confrontation but cannot stand being ignored. If attendance dropped from 5,000 to 500 it just might notice

If it dropped to 500, just how long do you think it would take to close the Valley and move the team elsewhere ?
