KR has done an appalling job so far - its fairly ludicrous to suggest nobody else could do any better under these owners. He seems pretty clueless and talks bollocks - if that's what the club wants then he's a perfect fit.
If we go down to L2 under KR and he's kept on then we might as well declare CAFC dead and buried - short of bringing KF back or making KM manager I'm not sure how things can get any more ridiculous.
I think he's exactly what the club wants: he's a willing human shield for Liar & douchebag; he's totally bought into the player farm (and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets kick-back from Aribo & Konsa and others); results don't matter - even relegation... he ain't going anywhere and he knows it - he's full of BS but he's towing the party line... I don't know why, but like Meire, he's an untouchable - he won't be sacked however bad he is.
This is Meire's cloob - her plaything - and douchebag will never admit that he or she were ever wrong: we're fucked as a club, and I agree with others that support the AFC Charlton idea. There'd be no more Valley but, at least, the spirit of the club would live on, without these cancerous owners.
I'd love to be proved wrong, but I think KR's here for the duration - for better or worse: can't see him giving us Conference football but it'll be a scrape to finish 19th this year - but douchebag doesn't care, and Meire's protected for life, so what do they care?
If I were RD I would be pricing the club up at -EUR 20m and getting rid of it before my ownership of it causes damage to the rest of my interests over and above that which is already caused.
I think the romantic football fan in you is hiding the facts. I doubt there is anything going on at Charlton that will concern RD's other business partners. The guy is a major force in the electronics world, I doubt they even know of our concerns never mind give a shit.
I can see how my wording has led you down the wrong path here. You have taken when I said 'interests' to mean 'business interests'.
I agree that I can't see the Melexis shareholders, who have seen a 75% increase in share price over the last year giving a shit what Roly spends his money or time on. Probably happy he's leaving Melexis to people who seem to know what they are doing.
If I were Roly I would be worried about continued protests in Sint truiden that affect my standing in my home town, about having to cancel my dancing after home games more and more regularly (I really enjoy lording it around the Revue bar and VIP section), I would be worried about the fact that Carl Zeiss Jena reps are referencing the Charlton protests in their discussions with me, I would be worried that Alcorcorn and Ujpest may start to protest.
He obviously assumes he will still be here in the close season, considering the comments he made regarding building a team like Powell was allowed to do.
From that I would assume he has had assurances from RD and/or KM. Errr.... maybe not here in the summer then.

No way do I want to form another club ie AFC Charlton. I might be dead before we got back to the Football League and we're saying League 1 is pony. It's a no from me. Just get Roland out.
Karl Robinson's enthusiasm has won me over ages ago . His results should be winning most of everyone else. I like his choice of signing (excluding dodo) and I like what he is trying to achieve. He may end up doing it. If he does Then I hope he gets kept on unlike Powell.
Took me a long time to be convinced, pre_ season he has got mostly the squad he wants, to play the formation he prefers. Frustrating last season, players tried in positions not suited to them, made me sceptical of him, but this season has been the most enjoyable for a long time . Now feel I trust him to take us forward.

Just take a listen to his post match press conferenc at Bradford. The guy is just brimming with confidence and a passion for our club we should all be Proud of .Despite lacking 5or 6 players and playing with some who were obviously not 100% we nearly beat a team unbeaten at home this season. He set his team up to win the game -no disrespect to Slade but he would have played for a draw.I really hope that this could be the start of anew beginning and would ask all of you who have boycotted the club this season to come back to the Valley next week and get right behind the team. They Deserve your support.COYR
Nearly a year on -KR has moved the team on and as I said Deserves all of our support .COYR
Although we had a fantastic side in 11/12, I can't remember us going all around the country playing teams off the pitch.
Hartlepool 0-4 Charlton Chesterfield 0-4 Charlton
Just to name a couple of emphatic away wins from that season.
IMO this win is more comparable to the away results at the Sheffield clubs from that season. We hardly played Bradford off the park but we did what we had to do to take the points.
Earlier this year, I met with Karl and spoke with him for a long time about CAFC's history and recent malaise. I saw in him a genuine, likeable and thoughtful chap.
I told him that I supported his vision for the playing squad and suggested that he was the right man for CAFC, but at the wrong time. By this, I meant that, as a boycotter against Duchatelet's destabilising of our wonderful club, I would not be attending to witness Karl's efforts - but wished him all the best in my absence.
I'm glad that his input and influence are reaping rewards, but am frustrated that the improved on-the-field activities might reflect positively upon the owner. Regaining Championship status would, of course, be a splendid achievement for Karl and his squad. However, the club was needlessly relegated and were it to regain a Championship berth, it would have re-found what it had so carelessly lost.
I continue in my boycott and hope that new ownership of CAFC can soon be realised. Were that to be the case, I hope that Karl remains as manager.
I’m not sure what I think about Karl, I certainly don’t dislike him.
I do think he often talks too much and often think he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
But there’s no doubt he’s certainly turned the team around.
As a boycotter I can’t really comment on the team only on others reactions and he seems to have most of you buzzing.
I’d certainly be happy with our current position, even if the football was poor but to be playing by all accounts good stuff, then I think the man, considering what he has to deal with, needs a round of applause.
Although we had a fantastic side in 11/12, I can't remember us going all around the country playing teams off the pitch.
Great performance and excellent result today. Please don't rewrite history though. At this stage of 11/12 we'd just lost our first league game of the season and hadn't been beaten by the two bottom sides in the league. We had recently beaten Sheffield United 2-0 on their own patch.
Not seen every one of Robinson's games but like he's talked about plenty of times he's trying to play attacking passing football, changing formation almost every game. That makes a huge difference, Slade generally played a defensive 4-4-2 based around getting the ball to Lookman or Holmes. Not great to watch but the players could play that way, we competed, drew a lot of games and won a few. Now we concede a lot and struggle to score.
To play his way we need a number 10, a mobile, box to box CM, probably another option for the lone striker, at least one more winger (depending on Holmes). Probably need at least one attacking full back as well. He needs a lot of players - will he really get them (and that's before anyone leaves)?
Very perceptive @Scoham given that this was posted last December. KR appears to have recruited all those players you identified and more. He has retained the best of the squad and released the rest. He has Charlton playing the way he envisioned and we have lost just three in the last 19 games, with one of those to Wigan who appear to returning to the Championship.
As @ShootersHillGuru pointed out near the top of the thread, KR inherited a mess of a squad. Put together by six head coaches/ managers with six centre backs and a geriatric midfield, KR used last season to sort out who to keep - and the rest have gone.
The job isn't complete but he appears to have done the heavy lifting. And we still have Marshall to add to the mix. Clearly KR has also benefited from the return of Kashi and Sarr.
And he has stuck to the same side week in week out - for we now have no less than ten players who have played 1,000+ minutes this season. That would be 11 but for injury to Pearce. But have we noticed given the form of Sarr, and now Konsa at the back?
In other words, stability, performance as well as a big increase in the chances on goal. 15 chances per game at the last count which is a big increase on 11 last season.
It's right that many had doubts about KR at the very start and whether he might be allowed to acquire the players he wanted. And then we went one win in 14 so fans were rattled. That's all understandable. And then, as a fanbase, we questioned whether he would be allowed to shape the squad over the summer.
Some spoke of the inevitability that choices would be restrained by finance and that failing players on longer term deals would remain at the Valley. In the end all the failed players went and the only "miss" was trying to pull back Mavididi - Now at Preston doing very little.
It's now P19 W12 D4 L3 since the start of April and that date is significant. For that is when Pearce came back from injury while Dasilva took over at left back. Goodbye Teixeira at that point... And Chicksen...
Within four months of arrival, KR started a fairly decent run of results. Lucky? Gobby? It matters not - give us a lucky general!
Watt left after a 20 minute sub appearance... And Crofts was replaced by Kashi in August. And of course Rudd was replaced by Amos.
In summary KR has done what others have failed to do: for he has blended that which he inherited with players he has acquired and is now looking towards his first anniversary... And his third transfer window!
Always had faith in the guy due to how he explained what he was trying to do plus his track record at MK Dons. Earlier in the season, my gut instinct suggested we had a 50:50 chance of being top six at Christmas - clearly those odds have improved rapidly now that we can hold our own against top six rivals.
A play-off final at Wembley is now a distinct possibility, particularly if striker options are improved in January.
For those comparing to the last time we were in the third tier, this is different. A different background, and a very different formation/ approach.
For sure substitute Wigan, Shrewsbury and Bradford for the two Sheffield clubs and Huddersfield but today is a different competition.
We are where we are - ideally fans will back KR and the lads at the next game so that we can keep going. We have a solid start and are now just two months from the next transfer window.

Robinson has my total support. We've not played football this entertaining for years and I include SCP's record breaking team in that.
I am going to be very pissed off if a new owner wants to replace him.
And me.He is a very good young manager and i love his enthusiasm. We are lucky to have him. People moan about him not having a Plan B. They always said that about Curbs and SCP as well.
It really doesn't matter whether you like Robinson. I mean who likes Neil Warnock ? Arsene Wenger hasn't exactly been loved by all the Gooners. Jose Mouhrino's a twat etc etc.
It's about, or it should be about, whether or not he's doing a good job and he clearly is. He has my backing & I try to ignore the nonsense he spouts. I listen to it, but I don't let it trouble me.
I am not warming to him at all or getting over-excited about being ten points behind Shrewsbury Town in League 1 with one competent striker who is already knackered.
The football style is much more attractive but time will tell if the third tier of the English football league is the appropriate place to employ it.
The recruitment is less insane but unlike his unfortunate predecessors in the abject Duchatalet era, Sir Gobby has been allowed to run his own ship (to some extent) because the owner is bored and the CEO has been gagged. Otherwise, he would probably have been sacked at the end of last season.
