What gives me confidence now is that the players seem to have some confidence on the ball whilst despite our next opponents are Sheffield United, they've not lost since August - Quite simply sure thats got to change sooner or later so why not against us?

Sheff Utd may not have lost but their recent performances have not been great. They have narrowly beat 9 men in their last two games. They won't be looking forward to Saturday in so much as they will be a bit wary of us. We need to use that!
True but that to me says that they just struggle to break down packed defences. 14 goals in 9 home games but 19 scored in 9 away games. Most sides will go to Bramall lane and play for a point.
Seems to me they're better when a team comes at them, so they'll be pretty dangerous opponents on saturday.

Amazing what you can achieve if you set out a team that tries to win... Lookman's goal was absolute class. Ajose and Magennis looking a decent partnership and with Foley in a sensible position he actually looks relatively solid. Phillips kept us in the game with some incredible saves and when we bagged the second, it seemed Rovers ran out of ideas...
Second half was more of a procession, especially when they had used up all their subs and went down to 10. Quality evening out, even saw our new manager who seemed very keen to take on the role. Just a shame that once the dust has settled I cannot see any changes....

I feel exactly the opposite. I know it's only a couple of results and I still hate the regime but it feels so good to look at a positive move in the table. I don't look in on this site so much because it's all so depressing (not knocking CL I love it, it's just the way things are) so I might try match and post match threads only for a while. it sounds like living in a bit of a bubble regarding Charlton but I still remember when I only really cared about results and felt happy or not depending on the final score alone.

Apologies for not posting sooner but at 1.45 this morning, the call from my bed was a tad stronger than that from my laptop.
A very wet journey to Brizzle through mist, rain, & extremely black lowering clouds made me anxious for the match's go ahead so Five Live accompanied us all the way. But that amazing rainbow witnessed around Reading had a pot of gold at its end this time.
We took our seats in the marquee at kick off due to parking being an absolute nightmare....Just as well we didn't stay in the pub for another vino as one dear friend suggested ! However, progress to our "stand" was perilous thanks to a huge bear hug from @Rock Spectacle who had decided to vacate his seat amongst some regime fanciers & relocate to the standing area. Good to see you mate !
What is left to say about this unexpected but welcome 3 points ?
Apart from a couple of onslaughts on our goal which young Dillon dealt with superbly in front of us, we had the lion's share of the play ...let's hope this continues into the home of those endangered creatures on December 21st.
From our view behind the goal , at pitch level, it was difficult to see our strikes at the far end but the waves of attacking forays towards us after the break & the subsequent goals was impressive ( Katrien & the Waves, anyone ?)
All the lads did what they are there to do with Chicksen a decent addition to last Saturday's starting line up and his goal was a bonus. Long may it continue.
So, a deserved victory & a hatful of goals to boot. What more could a humble Addick want ?
But, lest we forget, one swallow does not a summer make although the confidence gained from back to back wins & a 5 goal haul should not be underestimated.
What we have to remember is that moving up the L1 table doesn't solve our biggest problem .....the regime is still firmly in place & our fight to regain OUR club must continue unabated.
We are in this league because of the total mismanagement by KM /RD - the 2 that are clearly 1 as RD & the Spice Girls remind us. The strong foundations built over the years are still crumbling, the historically unique relationship twixt club and supporters is irretrievably damaged & only their departure will heal the breach.
We must NOT lose sight of the ultimate goal , nor must we start to believe the inevitable untruths spouted. Do we really think young Ademola will be our player when February arrives ?
The protests were never about winning/losing matches although without the "help" of the regime's numerous mistakes, we would be planning our trips to St James & Villa Park this season.

Yeah I've found it strange that Hanlan is ahead of Novak at the moment i.e. He was missing yesterday due to a niggle but was kept on the bench on Saturday
The keeper seemed rooted to his line and didn't command his box.
I wouldn't blame him for the 2 goals that deflected off defenders, they're almost impossible to judge right.
Our 3rd goal wasn't just down to their keeper. From Lookman's corner, Bauer got in front of his man virtually unchallenged to head the ball down down; watch Ajose - he's positioned right front of the keeper who I reckon was unsighted right until the last moment and moving too late.
And for the 5th goal, Ajose's speculative shot bounced a yard or 2 short in front of the keeper - that bounce usually deceives most keepers who've already committed themselves.
Not a good night for the keeper - but look at some of that loose Rovers' defending, allowing plenty of space and time for our strikers.
Shame we won't get to see the all angles footage though.
