The new owners should've been a little more discreet with that announcement. Obviously nice to give the fans a boost, & talk up plans after 2 bad seasons, but I think they've set themselves up for some overpaying situations there.

Besides we have a big budget, and look where we finished in comparison to Shrewsbury! Or where Sunderland finished in related to Millwall last season...

Actually nope, that's not what I suggest at all. They have just changed ownership and will want to get back to the Championship within one year. We will soon have new owners too. I was personally hoping we could get promoted as soon as possible since the takeover will no doubt give us a huge boost. But now that Sunderland are in League One and seem to be very competitive with a huge bugdet, I wish we weren't in the same division with them.

Good point. Ultimately money is not the only factor whether a club will do well or not. Let's hope we'll have a successful season.

...but thats exactly the scenario he found at St Midden. He saved them from relegation last year, then assembled a workmanlike squad to achieve promotion this year.
He was interim manager at Dumbarton for a few games and got our first win in the league and then acted as assistant and many attribute our great escape that year to his influence. Personally, I'm not too sure that he's all that, because we improved again after he left. It seems that many English clubs are looking for the new Fergie (remember that Katrien?) and he fits a similar profile with the crucial exception of winning a European trophy against Real Madrid.
He was a PFA rep so presumably has decent contacts. A lot will depend on SAFC's patience. He'll be a (relatively) cheap sacrifice if they have a bad start next year, but certainly has the potential to revive them.

Looks like Graham Potter (Ostersunds) is going to become Swansea Manager
Definitely his best chance of promotion, I imagine Stoke will be one of the favourites for promotion, so more pressure on him than his previous roles
Potter is more of a gamble, though good to see someone like him being given a chance at a decent level
