Charlton's U21s return to league action on Monday, hosting near neighbours Millwall at Princes Park (KO 1pm BST).
Supporters can attend Monday's fixture in Dartford with admission priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, while 2023/24 men's season-ticket holders and Valley Gold members go free.
Small mistakes are being exploited, but our general play has been very good.
True, but general good play is no good if you don't know how to defend. Which is true of the first team as well. Maybe we need a few good defensive coaches brought into the club.
Small mistakes is we cNnot put I'm accurate long passes or win one on one situations. They are given the ball by us and break quickly. 3 or 3 passes and they are in the area.
We thought the lads were outstanding for most of the first half & wondered how long they'd be able to continue at that pace/skill level. The movement off the ball, accurate passing & momentum was a sight to behold ...and we've watched a fair few U21 games over past seasons. Every one of our lads played their part in a superb team performance.
I did wonder whether heads might drop after their 2nd goal just before half time & felt that Rylah in particular lacked some of his zest & urgency in the 2nd half. But a great strike from Bower lifted them again.
If we'd managed to go ahead with a couple of goals in the first 30 mins or so of the match, as we threatened to do, then I feel the boys in blue might have found it far more difficult to raise their game accordingly...But this was Millwall.
As Henry stated, this IS a development league & as such, every appearance adds to our lads' experience.
We should be proud of each & every one of them and the springboard that's their starting point...
Reading his story, your heart goes out to him. He won't have been the first nor the last, of course.
The passage regarding playing with the fear of the injury recurring is very real and the mental damage it causes. There were some who didn't seem to grasp what Chuks has been going through - maybe the relevant part of this article will help with understanding that.

We were far too open when they broke but so were they.
Abdulmalik was at the heart of everything they did. One to look out for.
We missed Kanu's lethal finishing but this is called the development league for a reason.
A lot of our other regulars such as Eleware, Bakrin, Hobden, Laqeretabua, Dench missing or out on loan.
