    I think markets feel the "landing" is going to be a soft one. Recession fears are easing & company profits warnings not as severe as once thought. .Interest rates aren't going any higher & although wont be coming down anytime soon they will be lower in 2025 than commentators thought they would be. 

    Inflation also falling & Bond prices rising as coupons lower. 

    Oh......and Farage didnt win the Jungle thingy 😄.

    Better not look at today’s sudden jump. Need yet another big rise for me to be anywhere near mind you.

    I phoned them up just in case and after being on hold for over an hour they assured me that I didn’t need to do anything- much to my relief!

    It sailed through 7680 & stopped this evening at 7715. Only 5 more trading days left (I think thats right) and it's still too early to say where it might finish on 31st Dec.

    My hunch is some profit taking will occur & it will finish below 7700....probably nearer to 7650.

    As I always say, you need a balanced portfolio - which in essence is Equities, Bonds & Property (Commercial). The proportion of which is determined by your risk attitude.

    Also, I wonder who recommended those 2 funds   ;)

    Oi! I had the Jupiter one before! But the Waverton one does have a better record over 5 years.

    I've got very little in bonds, <5% but that's a good recent swing for sure.

    Bought a few BP.B and Aviva.A pref shares a month ago to give myself a decent yield for the longer term as interest rates gradually fall. Theyve done ok, Aviva up 4% including the dividend now payable and BP up 6.3%. Content to just leave these for the long term, and might top BP up a bit before they push higher.

    I have just had a hot tip. Please share widely.Tomorrow morning the men in grey suits will come for Sunak. The IEA have ensured that Liz Truss will make a shock comeback. The FTSE100 will be shocked enough to shed 170 points and I will win.

    I mean, otherwise it's more likely we will win 3-0 at the Gas than I win this bloody thing ;)

    I could just do with a bit of light selling / housekeeping & the Index falls by around 30 points.

    Also a quick look at my SIPP & I reckon I'm up by approx 7.5% this year. Virtually all of that over the past 2 months.
