Spiritually the constant refrain that Roland is the owner, end of, is at the heart of this isn't it? Over the years it is the fans who have established this entity that Roland can then come in and 'own'. Those fans, who established the club, are both held in contempt, yet begged to renew season tickets. How is that supposed to work? If it is a matter of money then that does not wash when collectively we have invested untold amounts over the years, and Roland's investment is in borrowing and debts, and he won't even talk to others with money prepared to invest. I am not happy with vindictive personal abuse even to those who are causing such misery, anyway we have in the vast majority channelled the abuse imperative into creative protest.
By abusing Sue, you are really just adding fuel to the flames that the protest are counter productive in the Managements eyes.
To be honest, I wasn't happy watching her laughing and joking with the Hull City owners after spending almost £200 watching us getting a 6-0 drubbing last season.
I found her behaviour that day discusting. Nothing but contempt for the travelling fans.
"Protesters acting & speaking like thugs trying to force him (RD) to sell his own property" - I think she really, genuinely needs to stop if only for the embarrassment it must be causing her husband. She may not be an employee, he is.
I gave up on the Facebook group ages ago because of all the low level racism and ignorance. It's somewhat telling that this sort of stuff was OK, but anything critical of KM gets disappeared.
Sue Parkes may well be "in the know", but this particular opinion is bullshit. had we not protested, we'd have had 6 fewer points and would have finished below MK Dons. Had we protested more often (and our win rate at protests was 50%) we'd have stayed up. So, maybe she is right after all - the problem with the fans is we didn't protest enough!
With yet another crap pre-season with an understrength squad where we will do well to finish lower-mid table, I am struggling to find anything to connect to at my club. Yes, my club.
I hate the Belgian idiots screwing this club up. I have no time for their collaborators. And when the day of victory comes, I hope they get their comeuppance. By all accounts, Chris Parkes is a decent man doing a good job. But surely his position will be untenable when the interim owners go?
"RD may have not done things as we wanted it but it's his club, he owns it"
That statement justifies everyone of those insults
Those comments lower the tone of the conversation here and are unnecessary.
Reference to her role as Facebook admin and deleting comments, I would suspect that she removed comments if it was her for the reason of foul and abusive languag, have you been on the Facebook site!
I like Sue and sought her out at Dulwich to say hello and had a good chat. She got it wrong here and does not help Chris in his relationship with the fans. But what she says hardly has any influence on the fans or owners and there is no need for Charlton Life to be going apoplectic.
I don't agree with Sadie that there are some people that hang on her every word, she may consider me one of them, but not everyone has the vehemence that is found on here.
Is she all the nasty things she's being called? I don't know but usually people aren't as bad as we like to tell them they are, or as bad as we think they are.
Have a think chaps & chapettes, she may be incorrect and ironically making her own mistakes but that doesn't mean she deserves abuse.
I don't think it's true that Sue pays for her seat at The Valley, because she recently explained on Facebook that all staff get two free season tickets and hers just happens to be in the directors' box because of her husband's "status".
Incredibly naive. Got to assume she is partly articulating what her husband can't really say as Club Secretary. Either way it's a poor reflection on decades of good loyal service from Mr. Parkes.

Was that the situation when you were there or introduced by this regime ?

Not sure that's much of an incentive scheme under the regime....

Na bollocks to her. She don't mind calling people 'thugs'. She lost her right to fair treatment months ago.

I have no idea why anyone would want to sit in the directors' box, personally, but full-time staff have received free season tickets in other areas since at least the mid-1990s.

Its on the half way line, it is a good place to watch the game, though the Covered End has got better atmosphere.

No agree, but people focusing on wether Sue gets a free ticket and calling her a freeloader are actually diverting from the true issue which is her comments.
Club staff recipients of the second free st are all freeloaders by the definitions above which is highly irrelevant and insulting to the staff who receive this (probably taxable) perk, including Chris.

I agree but equally before it becomes currency on here that Sue pays for a directors' box seat just because Dave has asserted it, I thought I should point out that I don't think that's true. Bear in mind I had oversight of the staff comps list for a number of years, although it was signed off by the board. I won't respond on the tax issue in fairness to the staff . . .

I do not think she understand what the word actually means.

Her husband needs to tell her to shut the fuck up.
Without telling her.

Back to the original.point, she's wrong.
