I'm not a huge Cousins fan (I like him and am proud that he came through our academy but just think he's overrated as a player and has not kicked on - being played as a left winger for most of his formative season didn't help) so that may colour my views. His departure was utterly predictably and £1.5 million is about what I expected given my view of his worth and my view of Katriens negotiating capability. Expected him to go and am not really bothered. All depends what we get in to replace him.
A bad deal for Roland Duchatalet, which is a good thing.
Really? Won't it just increase his sale price as we have more 'friendly' debt.
Maybe so, but that number is something we're never going to be able to make up 'organically' anyway.
The more he struggles to maximise profits on deals, the closer he'll be to wanting to leave. At least that is what I hope, and that's all I really care about.
We all knew that this would happen when we got relegated but if this rumoured fee is correct I think it shows once again incompetence by the all knowing experts that mismanage Charlton. If we got 20million for a player the money wouldn't be reinvested in the team , this mob ain't got a clue.
I would have been surprised if we got more - great energy and attitude but not a good midfield player - very rarely did he create or finish anything and always looked rushed on the ball
Happy for him but in his interview to QPR website he says he's delighted to be joining a massive club.....leave off.
The massive club thing is just standard talk - whatever player signs for whatever club, and it's the first thing they say.
Hmm...not sure about that. What he obviously meant to say was: 'well I'm happy to be joining QPR cos the owner is minted and doubled my wages. But it'll be a bit rough playing in front of smaller crowds and in a shoebox of a stadium. Happy to be here though. Definitely. You should see the new Aston I've just ordered.'
Haha, so QPR announce fee yet we say undisclosed. Amateurs.
Slowly but surely were getting back to the Charlton we're accustomed under the current incumbents.
We've had our feel of positivity over the last couple of weeks. Now it's BAU at Fawlty Duchatalet towers.
No problem at all with Cousins going, but we know full well it's going to have been an insulting fee, and whats more they don't want the good customers knowing how much.

Now we move on and hopefully sign some quality to bolster the squad.
Good luck and you're always welcome back.
Maggie May becomes PM and we lose JC for £1m too cheap in my opinion.
Sad double whammy.

So who's next out the door for pittance?
