How many of you wallies actually believe that all of the other 91 league managers have it written into their contracts that they have sole control over transfers and the like!

Where is he then?
Better get used to it Brussell. He's always too busy to be bothered with Charlton stuff. That's why he always looks like such a miserable old c**t when he has to get his arse over here for the latest crisis.

You are a clown
Actually you need to look in the mirror to see who the clown is if you actually believe this dribble!
So KM is confident he is a good appointment and RM confirms we made mistakes but will learn from them. Great to hear, I just wish they had said these sorts of things before...

99% of other managers don't have players arriving at their training sessions with suitcases un-announced. 99% of other managers are allowed to select their targets and manage their resources as they see fit. 99% of other managers have an open and healthy relationship with the club ownership. 99% of other managers aren't expected to play footballers not fit for the Ryman League in a Championship 1st Team.

Well that just confirms what I was told about Wilder not accepting just a 'verbal agreement' from Roly on player recruitment. I feel sorry for Slade but he just highlighted that the leopard can't change his spots and that Roly will pick the players for him! Saying Watt will be here for 'pre-season' suggests that then he is off. Speaking to all the players means very little if it is just to say 'Bye, bye'! Russell, welcome to the revolving door of the club once called CAFC.
Contract law is not my strong point but has RS played a blinder by dropping that into the conference I wonder?
Realistically no manager is going to get firm written assurances over transfers as no manager will have complete control...otherwise he says tomorrow "I want Ronaldo'. RD says, "out of our budget" and Slade sues for breach of contract.
However by saying he has a verbal agreement (contract) and KM not correcting that, she has surely given implicit agreement making it easier for him to sue for breach of verbal contract down the line (not that he ever will but gives him bargaining chips when he is fired in 4.5 months time).

Curbs did when he was at West Ham, that's why he was able to sue them for constructive dismissal when they sold players behind his back. It's commonplace - Chris Wilder will undoubtedly have it in his contract at Sheffield United. Shouldn't post stuff like that when you clearly don't have the knowledge to back it up.

So do all 91 other managers have that clause written into the employment contract ?

Twist it whatever way you like, but answer the question, do you actually believe the other 91 league managers have it written into their contract?
It is immaterial what our dopey owner has done in the past, do you actually believe all the other owners/chairmen/CEO's would relinquish all control in transfer dealings to their manager?

You are a clown
Essex Al you may be right but with these 2 running the club as I've said b4 u need something in place due to the fact that RD and KM have no knowledge of football , I'm suprised they didn't appoint Bradley Walsh as manager .
Charlton, like Rome, wasn't built in a day but it didn't take a huge amount of time to fuck it up. The current owners aren't going anywhere in the immediate and the prolonged protests and name calling will only serve to further damage our reputation.
We wanted an English manager - we have one. A good one at that for the level we are at. we wanted more communication - we've got some now. We want english players who can get us out of the hole we are in - we are supposedly looking at several. We want to keep the core of the team together - they say we hope to be doing so. Have to take it on merit at the moment.
Green shoots guys...green shoots.
We have to support the team. If protests are to continue we need to do it properly. Not with flares and petty name calling or aggression and racism. That just makes us look childish and will definitely deter players from joining us.

At lower league clubs, players are always being sold despite the manager not wanting them to go, so I'd be surprised if many managers had a written guarantee that they'd have 100% sole control over transfers. Especially after the Curbs incident.
It's January, you're fighting from promotion but face a tax bill of £300k so your star striker gets sold, whether the manager likes it or not
At least Neville Chamberlain had Hitler's signature on a piece of worthless paper. You haven't even got that Mr Slade. Perhaps you should have spoken to Chris Wilder before committing yourself.
Verbal agreement was probably the worst thing that could have come out of his mouth.
Jesus Christ, that is terrible.
If anyone was under any illusions that this appointment signaled a change of approach then I hope they are swayed after that.
Nothing has changed - we continue the fight to rid this cancer from our club.
He really should have left that out... Ignorance is bliss, we can all speculate that its a verbal agreement but until we knew (which would only have been when he'd left), speculate was all we could do... Now it'll just piss off the fans again
I disagree.
He talks earlier about rebuilding trust with the customers fans.
He has left us in no doubt as to how it is and whose fault it will be when it goes tits up because she's lied again.
