Christ, it must be sunny in Sheffield
Blue tie... Means he was at Reading for that pic not Sheffield United!!
Either way he's like rich mahogany
I'd say that's more a nice shade of Teak.

Edit: Either way, I;m sure there will be no need for a written agreement with KM on transfer control as he is happy to accept a pledge. (Ba-Dum-Tish)

Maybe it was a Chef Wendy tie.
  • Think it will be him.

Looking at some of the names mentioned it could be far, far worse

this .. I would prefer Cotterill though .. or Mourinho
Cotterill has been ruled out I believe.
    By turning us down?
  • Didn't like what I was told about Adkins a while back by someone very much in the know at Southampton. Basically that he wasn't prepared to put the hours in.

Well it seemed to work out alright for him...

It's about efficiency not the number of hours.

I can see by the hand gesture what he thinks of the job
  • Adkins did brilliantly at Scunthorpe and delivered the goods at Saints. I remember chatting to a Saints fan I met on holiday the day they (harshly) sacked him. BUT....he's at best flatlined since at Reading and Sheff Utd. Are his best days behind him? The same might be said for Uwe Rosler. Cotterill I've always liked and he has recent evidence of League 1 success, albeit working under a supportive board (whadya mean, we haven't got one of those?!). Following yesyerday's news from Rotherham, might Colin Wanker now be tempted to give the latest of his definitely one last years to the benefit of SE7?
  • Next Permanent Manager Caretaker and interim managers completing at least 10 competitive games will be deemed the permanent manager

Steve Davis (Current Crewe manager) 14/1

I love the fact that his current job was highlighted, as if the Steve Davis at 14/1 was the snooker player!
  • Next Permanent Manager Caretaker and interim managers completing at least 10 competitive games will be deemed the permanent manager

At least the bookies are learning!
  • Slight preferance towards Cotterill as he has seen success at quite a few clubs. Still think Adkins would be a very good appointment and I'd welcome him to The Valley with open arms. Would be the first sensible appointment since 2014.

...obviously subject to him signing his own players.

Whoever we bring in will have some say in transfers, but probably not final say. I feel like we just need to accept this and focus on who can coach a team well enough to get us promoted.

At the end of the day the first job of a manager/head coach is to coach the team. Obviously it's very hard to say who will still be around next season, but I don't understand why every British manager feels like they need to build their own team by bringing in 10+ players. First off our manager should be looking at the squad we have and picking out some of the quality players and trying to convince them to stay. A spine of Pope, Bauer/Tex, Kashi/Cousins, and a new forward is really good at League One level.

As far as picking the team, you'd hope that would go without saying. I know Powell insinuated that he had interference, but have any of the managers since spoken out?

I think CP did more than insinuate that Roland interfered with squad/team selection.

Right, declared it then, but have we heard of any such things since? It seemed that after Powell Riga came in and picked roughly the same players. Were Luzon or Peeters given instructions on who to pick?

    Maurinho hasn't! My money's on him then!

    From Ketts on Dr Kish

The new manager will probably be unveiled next week, though his name remains a mystery.

Ironically, the man Wilder replaced - Nigel Adkins - will probably be strongly considered for the Valley job. ‎

Former Bristol City manager, Steve Cotterill, has been strongly linked with the job, but DK understands the club have no interest in him.

    That's Meire's philosophy.
  • Not sure I understand why the club had no interest in Cotterill. Credible candidate.

  • Adkins would be a good appointment. But only if he comes in as a manager, with full control, and not as a puppet head coach.

Nobby Vinegar will NOT be joining.

    Yet.
  • Justin Edinburgh has not been mentioned that much and it's true the season tailed off for Gillingham, but I saw him in his first management job at Billericay Town years ago and he's gone steadily from strength to strength since...and we are a much bigger club (at the moment) than our Kentish neighbours (aren't we?).
  • He's shite

    Why?
  • Watt tools?

From the interview I listened to with CP basically he was astounded that players he had never heard of turning up at training but was adamant that he always picked the team without interference .
