Reading this I fear that we've glossed over Katrien's comments because she's bad at her job. She should report any wrongdoing to the police, but if someone is harassing her or doing something illegal, it's not her fault, and it's not her fault if she hasn't reported it to the police. That's victim blaming of the worst kind.
I recommend watching this. I obviously do not know if Katrien has been subjected to any of this, but there is a strong precedent for women in sports receiving rape and death threats. That's not something to be taken lightly. Good, bad, or otherwise at her job, no woman deserves to be treated like this. Before we start calling her a liar for making these things up, I recommend we take a look at societal prejudices first. There are plenty of other reasons to criticize her.
Her next press statement will start with how she has met with the fans and wow them over, or something along the Spurs taxi driver line how she bumped into a banker type person who is now a big Charlton fan.
