If its true, Riga left the club because of transfers (the same reason nearly every other Manager has gone) so cant see any British Manager coming in without a say on them!!
Seriously what is the love with the Director of Football role within clubs, seriously other than at the top sides when has it EVER worked either in England or the Continent?
I heard the same.
Was told by someone I believe that the coach Simon whatever his name is will get the job because he's cheap.
Everyone leaving the club has been replaced by someone from within the club just further down the chain.
Simon Clark is going to be our next Manager, just a bit more duct tape round the shoe!!
Simon Clark got the backing of the players , he really impressed at under 21 level and now with the first team....
An inexperienced first time manager like Clark, Jacko or Euell would have no option but to comply with every command RD makes, or be out on their arse like Damien Matthew and Alex Dyer. An experienced, respected manager like Riga knows he can go back to Europe and find another club at a high level, he can afford to tell them where to stick their job. That's why I think people wanting him out, have not really thought things through. If there was any doubt about Riga being a regime puppet, we'll know for sure that the next appointment will definitely be one.
Personally got nothing against Riga, and the players certainly seemed happier playing with him in charge. I'm certain he would've kept us up if he was in charge instead of that complete joke Karel Fraeye.
Official approach made to Nothampton for permission to speak to Chris Wilder yesterday .....
They've left that a bit late, unless they've invented time travel.
Surely they should, instead, have made an official approach to Northampton yesterday for permission to speak to Chris Wilder.
Knowing the regime, they've probably contacted the rugby club.
I'd imagine that the manager of a rugby club would have far more idea of how to get the best out of our squad than most managers from Belgium so would probably be a positive step!!
I've got a lot of time for him. The way we played in the first half was almost embarrassing for a team that's going down.
Regarding the whole press conference thing, when a British manager does it it's "mind games," when a foreigner does it it's nonsense.
Riga got the team organized and had a lot of players playing better: Johann, Jordan, Fox, Pope, Harriott, Lookman, and Diarra. Plus he brought in Tex. We could do a lot worse than keeping him on, and I fear we will. Getting in a British manager is all well and good but I don't really see the point if it will be someone like Wilder or Clark who don't have League One or Champo experience as managers. Even if they played there as players (Wilder), the game has changed SO much since then.
Class of him to resign, though I wish he'd taken as much of Roland's money as he could. Left on principle. Not many in the network known for doing that. Those who've spent time with him, like Fanny think he genuinely cares for the club. I'm inclined to agree.
Wish him all the best. He's earned another job at a decent level given the work he's done here.
He doesn't strike me as the type to do a tell-all interview about the behind-the-scenes at the club, but I suspect we'll at least get some idea of the clusterfuck he inherited.

Whilst it's not a tell-all interview, he did give this interview to The Guardian after the Blackpool debacle. It does give some insight to the issues he was fighting against.
If I understand it right, Jose had to be sacked by Blackpool (disgracefully), but he resigned from Charlton. He didn't resign from Blackpool, does that make us an even worse basket case than them?
He's a good dresser, wears a suit well. Always think that's underrated in a manager, especially compared to the likes of Sam Allardyce and Steve Evans.

Is that another way of saying he's not a fat bloater?

My guess is Mandy Rice Davis.
Can't see Wilder coming here. Why would he?

I wonder if he taught a few players his CogiTraining method whilst here!

I hope we'll see something similar about us in the near future.

Hear no evil/see no evil.
