If its true, Riga left the club because of transfers (the same reason nearly every other Manager has gone) so cant see any British Manager coming in without a say on them!!
Seriously what is the love with the Director of Football role within clubs, seriously other than at the top sides when has it EVER worked either in England or the Continent?

I heard the same.
Was told by someone I believe that the coach Simon whatever his name is will get the job because he's cheap.

Everyone leaving the club has been replaced by someone from within the club just further down the chain.
Simon Clark is going to be our next Manager, just a bit more duct tape round the shoe!!

I think the more pertinent line was " it's about the club's structure, it's more than just the players". As I said in my OP, I think he returned only because he was given certain assurances. It must have become clearly evident to him that those assurances have been, or will be removed, and as such he could no longer continue to work under this regime.

It doesn't really matter, to be frank, who is manager. The whole ethos behind the club needs change radically and quickly. League 1 will not be easy without the right structure, the right players and the right work ethic.

“I always repeat when you ask that question before that I would stay if……. It’s not necessarily about League One. I’m not a liar."
?????
Probably the least straight talking manager in the game's history - everything he says is a riddle. No wonder he took training sessions in French...

Surely they should, instead, have made an official approach to Northampton yesterday for permission to speak to Chris Wilder.
Knowing the regime, they've probably contacted the rugby club.
