In this turbulent season and the situation every CAFC fan finds them selves in...I thought I would just let you have some good news (and I am being selfish here)
I have just got back from my consultant appointment, and what a conversation we had!! He is 'over the moon' with the results of my latest echogram (in January 16), which have come back at 45%, he didn't think, due to how poorly my heart was, that I'd get much further than the 35% I was at last September.
I'm having another re-shock on 25th April, and after that I will have another echogram and if it shows my heart at 50% (nearly normal) then we will discuss removing ALL the medication I'm now on. I was supposed to be on the medication for the rest of my life!!
He listened to my heart and said it sounded very good, blood pressure is good as are my INR numbers. My heart failure has moved from 'very severe' to 'slightly mild' in 16 months!! In other words, 16 months ago, I was dying, with my heart working at just 18% it is now back to 45% and has even surprised the consultatnt. If the 'reshock' works I might even have my heart go back to normal, which is very rare. When talking to the nurse waiting for my blood test and she asked me about my 'numbers' all she said was 'blimey that's excellent'.
I always wanted to beat this and although not quite there yet, I'm hopeful that the final hurdle of keeping my heart in 'sinus rhythm' on 25th, may well see me with a normal heart like everyone else. The wonders of modern science and the skill of the people working in the NHS has made this possible. I will never agree with anyone who knocks the organisation or the staff. All I can say now is GET IN!!!!!!! Thanks to all who have encouraged and supported me, you are amazing people who helped me through, so far, a terrifying time. THANK YOU ALL
COYR's!!!

Particularly the paragraph above.
What changes have you made, such as diet and exercise, to aid in the turnaround?
And to think, you've done all of this despite Roland running your beloved club into the ground before your very eyes ;-)
well done RM and please keep getting better
The specialist would be even more impressed if you told him those results were despite being a Charlton fan.
Well done and good luck with your continued recovery.
Keep on keeping on !
Heres to reaching 50% next.
