I have just returned from walking my dog; I was wearing a Charlton coat at the time.
I was stopped by a late teenager walking his dog, who is a MK Dons fan (I live in a market town in the MK Dons catchment area). He was very animated about the weekend publicity surrounding our club and as a result he fully understood the reasons behind the protests, even citing the latest club statement.
He admitted that prior to the weekend/yesterday, he only had a vague understanding of the issues behind our protests.
The media news surrounding our position is clearly working!
Don't get me wrong, I detest the idea of the franchise as much as any man (even if Winkelman had changed the name away from "Dons" would be an improvement).
However, I might draw the line at killing any of their fans that I happened to meet, especially if they seemed OK on important stuff - other than the franchise.
Mind you, I'm sure an alibi could be arranged, for a fee....
Have just read the sponsors meeting thread. I assume the 'open day' for hospitality people (eg @ME14addick ) was the 'we have been meeting with fans etc' comment in the statement?
Emotions bring actions, he's rattled and he's bringing emotion into play because his non emotional business side has been rattled and his spreadsheets are being ruined due to our work. He's also started to be outed in the media which is slowly spreading across to Belgium.
We want him rattled and annoyed, yes it may work against us seemingly in the short term in he may say/do crazier stuff but it will force him out sooner, as it will be at the forefront of his mind where as before hand we were probably taking up no time in his day even for thoughts.

I would suggest that the answer to the question posed in the statement is “Any of the people approaching the club with takeover proposals all the time”; unless, of course, the CEO was lying?

I believe that it is the work of KM, even if RD sent it for publication. The Dublin statement verbatim part (with the additional clarifcation of "weird" by "unique") cannot possibly be the work of anyone but KM. The whole thrust of the statement is of somebody under massive (and possibly alcoholic induced) pressure. Let's face it, who is likely to be under more pressure :-
a) the inexperienced CEO in the firing line on a day to day basis who's job is on the line
or
b) The multimillionaire business owner and football playboy who rarely gets involved at the sharp end.
Just read the statement on the BBC and I am flabberghasted, has either of these two idiots read anything about the history of the club? Losing the ground, people standing for the council, getting back to The Valley and fans clearing the pitch etc. Does that sound like people who want the club to fail? I would turn this around 180 degrees and ask the same question to Roland because from all evidence he doesn't appear to be interested in investing where it really counts i.e. players and is driving the playing standard down employing players who are not up to Championship level, clueless coaches and a CEO who lives on the other side of the looking glass.

This is the one thing where I'm prepared to give the benefit of the doubt to KM. Speaking in a second language, it would be easy for her to use 'wierd' where she meant something like 'unusual', which is what the sense of ownership fans feel for a club is, when compared to, say, they way cinema-goers feel about their local fleapit. Still, she was an idiot for not getting a native English speaker to check it for her. A piece of "Dunglish" (cf. a previous post on this thread).
Sorry but this can never be used as an excuse because it is simply inexusable. She is from a European country, is/was a lawyer, studied in a university in the UK for some time, uses English on a daily basis at corporate level. She's a CEO of a big English company (us) and if her English is really that bad, she doesn't meet the basic requirements of this job, does she?
English is not my native language either but even I thought the 'weird' thing was shocking and she should never have said that. It's in fact not a case about second language. Till this day she's still arguing about it, making a laughable attempt ( {...}??? Really??? I couldn't believe my eyes! What did she think she was writing? A thesis?) to explain it in such an outrageous statement so it's clear proof that they really mean what they've been saying. They do think we're weird because they don't understand us. They couldn't be drunk when they put that statement out. It's a bold confrontation. It reflects what they think about the whole situation. In fact they've been treating us as if we're the enemy to defeat or the problem to solve for almost two years. The statemente is, in a way, a good thing because it makes more people realise that Duchatelet and his incompetent CEO should never have had entered the football business and the only way for our club to survive is a change in ownership.

Since Sunday, his name has become the most googled for many a year - for all the wrong reasons.
He has been lambasted throughout media channels in the UK and the Belgian press has also been a tad busy, I believe.
He now epitomises a failed football club owner ...and it hurts because as we know, he "doesn't do failure".
However, the pressure & embarrassment was ramped up spectacularly last night when The Statement was posted.
Effectively, Roland has been hoist by his own petard...ouch !
