    Has anyone explained to RD, that being resident in the UK for a few months on a EU passport, kicking a ball around at home because you got slung out by your last lot as surplus to requirements, does not make you the British signing that will strengthen a team in it's bitter fight from relegation from one of the most competitive leagues in the world?

    He was awful for Juve, signed him off the back of a good season with Roma and he had a lot of promise but once his form dipped he never recovered.

    Interestingly I saw him make his one and only appearance for Italy live vs Ivory Coast at Upton Park.

    The Motta I know of from my Serie A knowledge is one that is a terrible dribbler. A reliable enough defender when fit but terrible on the ball.

    But unfit, so useless signing. This recruitment is just chucking shit at the wall, depressing.

    Seriously, the logic is impeccable.

    Work with me on this one.

    RD has decided, because he's a certifiable certified "genius", that the way to outsmart the opposition is to confuse them.

    We know, and other Championship teams do too (because they do crazy things, like proper scouting), that Charlton are a bit weak on the left flank wing.

    Well RD is obviously a student of military history and has decided that, we let the opposition or left, but, and this is the genius bit, instead of trying to fight back there, we sneakily place all our players on our right flank wing and sweep past them in an out-flanking semi-pincer manoeuvre, marching onwards to our inevitable victory. Oh how foolish will our opponents look then. They'll probably fall over themselves (admittedly laughing) and suffer an hysterical reaction, and then we'll strike, smashing all before us. Oh yes.

    It's the sort of plan you'd expect from a mastermind, on a par with great military thinkers, like Sun Tzu, Alexander the Great, Shaka Zulu (his cousin Chaka Khan), Guderian, Zhukov... anyway, you get the picture. His brain is right up with them, admittedly, however, they seem mostly to be dead.

    And to think I haven't been drinking...

    As an aside, does anyone think that RD looked a bit like he was auditioning for a role in Planet of the Apes?

    Seems as though the Watford fans liked him. He's been out of the game since the summer though... how long is it gonna take him to get up to speed? And do we have enough time to wait for him to get there?

    Instead of just slaughtering the regime cos it's the in-vogue thing right now, would anyone like to look at this logically?

    Riga knows that Solly's knees are fooked so that can't play more than once a week. We have five Tuesday night games scheduled over our run in, and from all accounts, Fanni is at this stage of his career, a 'centre back who can play right back'. I think Fanni was brought in as an older head to play (or even just be around training) when Diarra is out, and this lad, who comes highly rated from Watford in our league, will offer the true right back cover we need when Solly can't play. As the first of these games isn't for a couple of weeks his lack of fitness shouldn't be too much of an issue.

    (Then again, maybe I'm being too glass half full here, and looking for logic where none has been applied).
