The financial benefit to WH from the stadium lease being effectively in perpetuity will be reflected in the price of WH shares. Guess what - the taxpayer only got a share of the profits on the sale of WH if it was sold within 5 years (from memory) of the signing of the stadium contract.
I see those cheeky claret n blue porn barons are about to dip into public funds once more. Gleefully nose bagging into Mayor Khant''s pot of gold to upgrade the London Stadium.
Does anyone have further knowledge or links? I have unsuccessfully tried to back track and find where the hell I saw this. I may of course halucinated the whole thing but a stink is a stink and as a tax payer, i hold a grudge.

Looks like it is being upgraded by the LLDC, rather than West Ham, but obviously being there ground they will benefit anyway.

Of course, West Ham will tout this as evidence of their commitment to addressing climate change (and will probably claim it for any carbon off-setting that they are supposed to do).

This is certainly an interesting approach, but I'd like to see more concrete measures to reduce carbon emissions, not just advertising. It looks like just PR
West Ham in £4m legal battle with London Stadium landlords
Those cheeky Hamsters are trying to claw back nearly £4m of the “penalty” they had to pay when Kretinsky bought a stake in the club under an added value clause that was in the contract til 2023.
The report also confirms that E20 paid £8.3m installing solar panels to upgrade the stadium last year, just less than twice the £4.4m that WHam now pay in rent. E20 made an underlying loss for the year of £14.3m.
The stench on this “deal of the century” really doesn’t lessen as the years go by.
