I am amazed that, in view of the controversial moves Boris has made since becoming PM that there has not been more reference made to his various shortcomings as Mayor of London - of which the Tax Payers' Stadium (love that description btw!) is such a glaring example.

Comparisons with the Garden Bridge seemed to me an open goal when this latest vanity idea of a bridge joining Scotland to Ireland was recently mooted - but it appears the popular media are totally lacking a striker in their reporting teams.

With Parliament prorogued, surely now would be a golden opportunity for the subject of the lease terms for the London Stadium to once more be aired in public?

I certainly mentioned it when replying to a recent survey from my MP, as an example of Boris having history of redacting inconvenient truths from documents he was forced to release, and predicting (accurately as it soon transpired) that I could see the same being true of the Yellowhammer and proroguing papers which the Commons demanded should be published.
I don't think you should be surprised. Just look at some posters on here. There are people who voted for him (not everyone of course) who choose to ignore his indiscretions for their own reasons and attack anybody who points them out as being political.

The bloke is a self serving corrupt cheat.
Come now you can do more than that.  He is a fat self indulgent,  self serving , lieing tosser who has the attention span  of a moth ,the honesty of corrupt cheat who always blames someone else. They ignore his failings which are legend and many because it means they have been duped and misled.

On the stupid London Arena and I say stupid because it is nowhere near a tube or rail or bus point without walking round and round , Labour promised a legacy instead of just allow for its knocking down . Every other bloody Olympic Stadium is now a tribute to the stupidity of not reusing them again. The upkeep is ridiculously expensive too. That is why they end up crumbling edifices despite political promises.

The politicians responsible move on before leaving the mess to other mugs like Bozo,in this case.

Having the proxy games here was the big mistake.
After Covid they won't  find so many fresh idiots in hot competition.
Facing finding a legacy for it was a pain and people with more ability than Boris would have not been anymore successful. Considering we all paid for it I can't countenance it ending up in the Porn Bros hands with that bloody witch they employ.

Well i like him... and that Trump fella!

Yep. They've seen sense. Nevertheless, we are continuing the effort to find put who exactly was behind this attempt, and why. Using FOI, natch :-)

I think there in that picture they are assuming the position ready to take their latest product, the "12 inch triple speed black mamba anal blitzkrieg"?

If they sell before May 2023, then Gold & Sullivan will have to pay financial penalties to the taxpayer.  I'd be amazed if they sold up before June 2023!

And i bet there are no change of control provisions in that shitty contract

Shocking, especially as the football season will be over by May

The "excuse" is that with the summer concerts cancelled, this is the only non "West Ham) event there this year, but it's a poor show. Football isn't the only sport needing crowds back

This is outrageous. Why is it not getting more coverage?
As the article @Covered End posted, it looks like the LLDC may face legal action over it. But with the elections in May, everyone who might have kicked up a fuss has been preoccupied. It's all about those bloody "retractable" seats.

The cost of removing and returning the extra seating has clearly not been significantly reduced. It was supposed to cost 300k pa, but somehow turned out to cost £4m the first close season they did it.

I respectfully remind all readers of this thread that the bloke who signed this contract off as the centrepiece of his Mayoral legacy,  and then moved heaven and earth to stop the contract from being revealed, is now the Prime Minister.
What did you expect then. Most everything  he is involved in costs a huge amount and ends up a failure. Mind you trying to make a legacy out of an Olympic stadium has baffled the world since 1896 !

It always should have been the national athletics stadium as we don't have one of those and probably have to build one. It shouldn't always be about money.

A watch reportedly belonging to footballer Jesse Lingard was stolen from a changing room during a Premier League match.

Met Police officers are investigating a report of the burglary at the London Stadium, home of West Ham United, on 9 May.

This country has no need for a national athletics stadium of over 25k capacity.  The athletics people don't like that as they cant host World and European Championships. If Athletics want one they should pay for it (same as West Ham should)

This headline annoyed me in the Evening Standard.

This author mentions Charlton in the body of the message so why not include in the headline?  Are people in SE London less important than those in the West, East and North?
