If anybody has a conact with the merch sellers by Ransom can they let me know please. Thanks.

If you're thinking what I think you're thinking then I'd leave them out of it. The club could make their lives difficult if they think they're undermining them outside the stadium and its those blokes livelihood.
I see what you're saying. But surely that's their choice?

I can only recommend selling black and white scarves as the demand might be there.
I think by suggesting it you put them in a difficult position, either they turn down a request that's popular with fans (their customers) but will be wildly unpopular with the club (who could make things uncomfortable if they were so inclined).

Whatever, I'm just an observer and not in control of this campaign so proceed as you see fit.
No one is in control! I just see it as a way of uniting Charlton fans so that we're all fighting for something.
So do I - see my previous comments, I just think you're going a bit far in meddling with another man's income but as I said, I'm just an observer.

    Fair enough. Maybe you're right.

They don't operate under the club's jurisdiction. Rest assured the club would remove them and the food sellers on the opposite side of Harvey Gardens if it could. But it can't, any more than it can shut the pubs.

But they're not children are they? They can decide without being minded by you.
  • Sorry if this has already been mentioned I just skimmed through most of the thread but do we really think they are going to give us details of their budgets? And would that even be a wise move to have details of the clubs budgets and finances out in the open?

That's a very reasonable question. In the past RM used to manage this by briefing fans at meetings - nothing written down down and a request not to broadcast the info. Quite a subtle way of doing things. Often, he'd put our figures into the context of figures they believe they had from other clubs.

It's one way of doing it. It used to work quite well, too.
  • Revealing budgets doesn't have to be done to the level of how much the club has to spend on player X's fee or wages.

Explaining what the expenditure will be on Sparrows Lane, how the debt is being handled and how the club is moving to break even, if the remains the plan, could all be done without hindering player or other negotiations.
  • On the pitch we look for someone to take the initiative...."pick up" the ball and surge forward towards the goal.

Off the pitch we need the same. No points at stake but the goal being to secure the future of our beloved Club.

I applaud Henry's cunning plan & fervently hope that this will be taken up by our supporters as a whole.

How can we spread the word though apart from via social media channels?

Leafletting outside The Valley is one option, especially with regard to the " We want our Charlton back" chant on 15 minutes. Nothing fancy or lengthy - just a few succinct words to make the point.

Funding this ? Well, I guess a Just Giving kind of thingy is one idea but of course there would be others will far better suggestions than mine.

IMHO, CAST needs to be on board as at present they are virtually the only group with an active "taskforce".....with the majority of Supporter Groups in severe decline, Bromley Addicks excepted.

But this needs to be a concerted effort to include the "average" fan who has a voice and passion for our Club but who rarely has the opportunity to make his/her opinion heard. It's these very fans that may fall by the wayside if the status quo remains.

So, a rallying call from Fanny.

Let's get this show on the road !

    Let's be 'avin you !!!!!

    Spot on in my view

We are as strong as our weakest link, disunity is the enemy, thus we need to observe process. Trust AGM next week..

  • How about something in the 47th minute as well? 1947 the year we won the cup. They seem to be dismissing our history without giving us their idea about our future. WE WANT CHARLTON BACK SAY WE WANT CHARLTON BACK (Gap Band) Maybe be finishing with an 'E I Adieo We won the Cup.'
  • I like the 47th minute idea.

Less keen on "we want our Charlton back" as that means different things to different people but what do other people think?
  • most people aren't back in their seats by the 47th min
  • personaly I think anything during then game, then the earlier the better

    4+7 = 11th min

    I like the 19min 5 sec idea
  • Brilliant Leaburn.
  • That image is in Facebook cover size if any admins of that page fancy sticking it up to show solidarity across the fan base....
  • I've just set it as the photo for the Twitter page.

    Great stuff, Leaburn.

Its too wide for mobile facebook, right width for twitter mobile but slightly too high
  • I have to say this campaign has grown on me as the week has progressed. The slight negativity in my immediate post was focused (or intended to be focused) on the importance of unity which is being echoed by others during the week. I don't know enough about the machinations of other groups of supporters, but is there any way that those running different groups could be brought together? Getting everyone on board is, I believe, important to the success of this campaign. Can this be done?

I am 100% with you on this.

I have contacted various people in the last half an hour.

If you have suggestions of people to contact, please do PM me.

I've inboxed you, Twitter changed their dimensions so have sent you an updated one.
  • Of course, but those with the ideas must also be prepared to lead it, and i dont mean that as a dig. I suggest the natural next step is for those strongly supporting it to bring it to the agm next week, if not the stall tomorrow
  • One of the first things we need some sort of kitty - then if we have a plan we have some sort of backing for it - all donations can be used by those making such decisions. Not everyone who want's involved in 'action' wants to be forefront of this i.e. publicly. Some will want to contribute a small amount of money to contribute to a few scarves, a banner, hosting a meeting etc. Again more than happy enough to get the kitty rolling.
  • Maybe we could have Leaburn's picture in the old "100% Support" part of the forum.

Before the jokes start, no, not a photo of Carl. :-)

Ah, good point... I've redone it with the mobile "safe areas" clear so it will work on desktop and phone...
