With everybody working together, instead of individual groups, we can't be ignored. We ARE the club #CAFC #SpellitOut #BlackAndWhite
  • I have written a poem for Katrien, hope it helps the campaign...

Charlton are red but you make us blue
It seems to us all that you have not a clue
Why not invest in a Championship squad
Names with vowels that do not sound odd
A team to admire and pick out a pass
To honour the beauty of that lovely grass
And if you are reading and stifle a scoff
You and the Belgian can just go fuck off.

    Inspired by this and thought I'd write my own;

Strange Belgian lady who goes away on the train
    When will you realize that
    Luzon is insane?

The next fergie he is not
    A motivator maybe
but when will he see that tony watt is lazy?

Our history is proud and you do not care
But worry not as you have such lovely long hair

    The real fans are leaving
    No sign of new blood
This is because our performances are crud

    The club is heading downhill
and there's nothing we can do
just sit in the oak, and down more than a few

    the beer diverts attention
from the fact we are so shit
but a second string at palace
was not on- not one bit

    But the pitch looks grand
    So thank you for that
But we want the prem, so remind Roland...the twat!
  • It has to be clear that this not led by a specific group. That's then the perfect get-out for KM as she'll use her old excuse of not engaging with one specific group of fans. It has to be obvious this represents the entire fan base.

I could not agree more. This is about all of us Charlton fans working together with a common goal, it is not time for splintered groups!

I'm glad to see you're on board @PL54 that's the spirit. Can I put your name forward as spokesperson for the group
    I'd rather do glue.
  • Two of the ideas that were 'rejected' by the trust...... I used his face and CAFC logo in the latest issue of news.
I like the simple white and black type myself, on the right that a poster has used. Looks clean and effective, will work well graphically.

Emphatic no there. You will still keep chipping in with ideas though?

    All sticky together.

  • For the TV game, what about the late entry to the ground that Bayern used. Got loads of media coverage and had both dignity and impact.
  • I'm in, obviously. I would welcome a deadline for some action rather than wait until it's too late the end of the season.

    I think that's a great idea.

Are you sure anyone would notice? We are hardly packing out The Valley right now are we?
  • The idea seems OK in theory, but it assumes that the Belgians actually know what they're doing, they just don't want to tell us, and somehow we can persuade them to let us in on the secret. The problem I have is that I don't believe anyone really knows what Roland is up to, maybe he does n't know either, so how can Katrien spell it out?

A black and white scarf is a protest scarf from here on. Nothing stopping people wearing them from now.. Who are we playing next who wear black and white?
  • There are a lot of good suggestions here, so well done everybody.

Personally, I never miss a home game and so a boycott wouldn't work for me & coming in after KO, is also not great for me personally.

I still want to support the team I love.

My suggestion, to ADD to the others, is something very very simple, that we can all agree on.

Ok, it has no "outcome", but it's a very easy added message.

At a certain time, say 15 mins into Saturday's game, we ALL stand up and start singing we want our Charlton back, for as long as it lasts. We all face the direction of the directors box.

Perhaps, we can do this every 15 mins ? Perehaps this is too much. Ie after 15, 30,45, 60, 75 and 90 mins of the match.

I accept that it will "produce" no specific outcome. But it will 100% make a point to Meire & RD via Meire.

I also suggest anyone with a black & white scarf, holds it high.

Just a suggestion, that we can all agree on or ignore very easily.

Please feel free to criticise. I'm happy to do this alone

I'd do it. It may just be me and you, but who cares ...

    P.s, buy a scarf ;-)

  • If anybody has a conact with the merch sellers by Ransom can they let me know please. Thanks.

I can see why those running the club are reluctant to allow themselves to be 'questioned' about their plans because, inevitably, the next stage from that is for the group of supporters to tell them what to do, and RD doesn't strike me as someone that likes to be told what to do.

I don't think those running the club have any long term strategic plans for the first team. I believe that RD thought that he could be successful with SL reserves in the Championship and that explains all the rubbish signings in January 2014. I really, really, hoped that he had learned from this but in the summer of 2014 they signed a load of young foreign players that were not all very successful. In January 2015 the signings gave me hope that they knew they needed to sign experienced Championship players (at least that had played in England) but they let two of the three leave in the summer and were replaced with more players that hadn't played in England.

I, now, I think they are just going to keep gambling on young players from all over the world each summer until they stumble upon a squad that can win us promotion and sell any that can make a decent profit along the way. This will be subsidised with expensive short term signings in January each year if the summer recruitment doesn't work out. I fear that they will never disclose that as none of us would like it very much and the wall of silence will continue.

The thing is that even if they could, reliably, sign players that would be successful in the first team and/or make a transfer profit for us, the teams we need to be finishing above are going to benefit from more in parachute payments and/or directors injections so that we will never have anything like the resources that they have. And, in actual fact, they don't seem to be able to, reliably, sign players that are better or will become much better than we pay for them.

I have given RD the benefit of doubt for a long time but I now think that the best we can hope for is to tread water until, or unless, we stumble upon a £50m squad for £10m.

    Let's hope it keeps rising.

  • Sorry if this has already been mentioned I just skimmed through most of the thread but do we really think they are going to give us details of their budgets? And would that even be a wise move to have details of the clubs budgets and finances out in the open?
  • If anybody has a conact with the merch sellers by Ransom can they let me know please. Thanks.

If you're thinking what I think you're thinking then I'd leave them out of it. The club could make their lives difficult if they think they're undermining them outside the stadium and its those blokes livelihood.

I see what you're saying. But surely that's their choice?

I can only recommend selling black and white scarves as the demand might be there.

You certainly will not miss us scoring

I think by suggesting it you put them in a difficult position, either they turn down a request that's popular with fans (their customers) but will be wildly unpopular with the club (who could make things uncomfortable if they were so inclined).

Whatever, I'm just an observer and not in control of this campaign so proceed as you see fit.

No one is in control! I just see it as a way of uniting Charlton fans so that we're all fighting for something.
