Why on Earth would this latest campaign demanding the owners reveal their business plans etc, succeed where the Trust's failed? It's as desperate as it is naive.

You have an alternative?
Total boycott of games.
But how are you going to bring that about? You can't force people to not attend. What are doing or going to do to start a boycott?
I'm not claiming that this idea WILL work only that people should ask for something specific.
I'm told that the usual do nothing trolls are getting hard on's on twitter slagging the idea off which tells me I must be doing something right : - )
It's up to all of you to act in whatever way you wish. Boycott if you wish, demonstrate if you wish, this is just one suggestion for channelling the frustration into something that might bear some fruit.
Agree in principle with this, think also that the white and black represents the fact that many of us feel the club has lost its identity of late, black and white is pretty spot on in terms of how many of us would describe our experience at the valley of late.
As fans there is absolutely sod all we can do to force RD to release the purse strings, and nothing we can do to influence GL who plays. In addition, it appears to be a waste of time getting anything from KM.
Therefore let's try and get the information outlined in the first post and take it from there.
Let's say they start inviting fans to meetings. So what?
We had this at the Woolwich meeting where everyone was talking about 'communication' - which is all well and good, but I don't think it would actually change much.
If they tell you what you WANT to hear it will either be a) untruthful or b) something we don't like.
Have as much communication and spreadsheet stats as you want from them, the only thing that matters are their ACTIONS. The majority of which so far have not mixed well with the average Charlton supporter.
Meetings about meetings about meetings is the only 'outcome' I can see from this I'm sorry to say.

You're right, of course, Henry, a total boycott is wholly unrealistic in practical terms, but I don't see how else Miere's indifference can be dented; I'd even like to see a pitch invasion and some victimless vandalism - I know, I know, the club is the victim... I may have come across as one of your ' do nothing trolls' but my cynicism is borne out of the ever increasing flood of platitudes pouring out of Miere. Anyway, I'll leave it there and wish you the best with your endeavours.

fair enough, you may well be right but you didn't mention the Target 20k working group to input marketing ideas or the change in policy to have all emails responded to.
I can't make the club do anything, I'm just trying to channel the ideas that people have into something specific that plenty of fans, I believe, can get behind. It's up to the fans and the club to make it work.

"do nothing trolls" wasn't aimed at you or anyone on here.
Just made me laugh when someone told me that a certain person was getting sexually aroused on twitter. So sad but so funny at the same time.
It's the Black and white theme that got me thinking.
Newcastle United supporters club and the MAOC group have been trying to get these kind of answers out of Mike Ashley for nigh on 8 years. Well organised, heavily attended and right in the face of Ashley, who attends most games personally and hasn't uttered a word. Not a scar on our support, but numbers wise it gets nowhere near Newcastle's.
This is the kind of person we are up against. Problem is he's holed up in his Brugge bunker eating truffles on most match days. A select group of fans sitting in the front row wearing black and white scarves and badges is really not going to grab him by the balls!
I don't think that's the aim though Carly Burn. It's a start. It gets more Charlton fans aware of the aims.
If we can raise awareness and get more people on board with the campaigns goals then we can take it from there, but have more weight behind it, surely?
Did anyone see Belgo Foot's tweet from 2 days ago? He mentioned that its exactly one year ago that Standard fans were throwing chairs on pitch demanding that Luzon be sacked and calling for Duchatelet to resign.

Exactly. We've got to remember that the majority of Charlton fans aren't on Charlton Life so will have no idea about this.
If they start seeing people wearing these scarves on matchday then they will start wondering what it is and hopefully getting on board.

He's not been at a home game for over a year, so unless he's watching it in his ivory tower then it won't effect him. But his unqualified and ineffective Chief Executive is there game in, game out. Get her thinking why people are angry at the state of the football club. She might be too arrogant to care but then she might think I've had enough of this constant negativity towards her, and resign.
Following on from the "Write to Katrien" thread I felt that there needs to be a purpose to such a campaign, one that isn't just counter productive abuse as seen from a few on that thread but which aims to achieve something, however limited and unsatisfactory that might be to many. But it is has to be something concrete and measurable, something to aim for.
Many will say that "we just want them out" which is a legitimate view but not likely to encourage compromise or communication.
It also has to be something which can been seen and which, if it takes off, becomes harder and harder for Katrien, Roland and the media to ignore or claim they are unaware of.
And it needs to be something that most fans can buy into and join in with without violence or missing games
So here goes.
Spell it out in Black and White
The aims are:
- That by the end of the current season the board spell out exactly and with time frames and budgets what the business plan is for Charlton Athletic
- That by the end of the current season the club opens meaningful and two way dialogue with fans through public meetings attended by board members, regular articles on the clubs OS and any other avenues they choose.
- That the club immediately bring in and follows a policy of 100% response to all non-abusive letters and emails from fans and that the club publishes a list of senior managers with their emails so fans can contact the correct person directly.
- That the club create, by March 2016, and publicly invite membership from the fan base for a marketing working group to work towards having 20,000 gates at the Valley on a regular basis.
Why Spell it out in Black and White. The colours are part of our club colours and we won the FA Cup in white shirts and black shorts. They, of course, are also the colours of printed text.
The message to the club is "spell it out in Black and White" ie what are you doing and why.
Fans can show their support by wearing black and white badges, shirts, scarves (ala Man Utd fans yellow and green scarves), banners and this will be a visible display that can be seen in the stands, on the sofa and elsewhere. Change your icon on here or facebook if you want
It's a simple message that can be repeated to Katrien, to Roland and other staff "Please spell it out in black and white"
Fellow fans, feel free to laugh, to ridicule, to ignore, to say it is too much, too little or too late but it is something.
Over to all of you
(Sir) Henry, is that really you or your Twitter twin ?
Good work, @Henry Irving - this is a reasonable set of requests to ask of KM.
I just really hope people get behind this one, though. Fans fighting among themselves over f- all is making me as tired of Charlton as the shambolic management.

Perhaps buy a few of the scarves?
Hand them out or sell them at face value? Get as many people as possible to realise what is happening and you can help get other people to get behind it?

Holding these up at the games will get noticed surely. Couldn't be any other reason than a protest.
Cheap enough if everyone holds these up with scarves etc when Red Robin is played at home games it could be quite meaningful.

Then he might take some notice
I've bought mine already. I might get mistaken for a Fulham fan on the train down but there at least it's not Palace.
OK,
Now it the time for you to start to doing something.
I politely suggest that you write or email or both to as many people you can think of setting out the four action points and asking for a reply.
These might include some of the below
The Fans Forum's members
The Supporters' Trust board
Employees of CAFC
Directors of CAFC
Owners of CAFC
Sponsors of CAFC
local and national media.
Tell people you know who don't use CL or social media.
Ignore the trolls and keyboard warriors. They are just a distraction, have nothing to offer and will only waste your time.
To borrow from Ooah's stats
Total success 5 % Partial Success 15%, Frustrating Failure 80%
Very happy to spread the word though.
Wasn't me but good idea
Up to 50 followers now.
A success for this opening phase in my opinion in just a couple of hours?
Happy to discuss if you get a spare moment at the Bromley Addicks meeting Henry.

Perhaps we can all do this?
