Shows lack of ambition joining a team set for Div one

    clearly lacks ambition then
  • Been out all today so can someone summarise for me all the signings we've made today with a precis of each of those players' CV to date so I know whether they are likely to be automatic first teamers.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't think we have had a pleasant late surprise on transfer deadline day since Jerome Thomas arrived.

I could think of many words, but pleasant wouldn't be one of them.
At 100k he was an absolute bargain back then.
And he was a very, very talented player. Even on the days when he looked like he couldn't be bothered he was able to make Premier League defenders look very average. he scored some great goals. I think he just didn't look like he wanted to bother in the second division. I also think he went on to have a career playing at least one division above us after he left.
Before he got into the overpaid footballers lifestyle he gave us a couple of good years - and I'll always remember his goal against Spurs. Admittedly since then he has done b****** all - he couldn't even fool Pardew to give him a contract.

Might sign Kerm in the loan window next week

We don't need a striker and a 34 year old one at that .....

    I bloody hope not......
Hmm. When Makienok went off injured on Saturday, it appeared to be the biggest reason we lost the game, we might have otherwise won. We had no one up front to hold up the ball. Now if Kermy had been on the bench ?
I'm Yann would be overjoyed at the thought of exchanging the Bournemouth bench for our bench. We don't even have those Recaro motor racing seats
  • Marvin Sordell has had his contract cancelled by Burnley...

Strangely, with JBG, Cousins and Watt and Mak in the team I'd have him back. Is that so very wrong?
  • Matt Jarvis on loan at Norwich for the season, I think it's definite that Bennett will be out on loan
  • Bennett to go where?.

If he played like he did under Riga but for an entire season I'd take him on a free.

Weird. Jerome Thomas may have lost his way in his last year or so with us, but when he arrived and broke into the team he was absolute quality for us in the Premier League.

it really has become very tedious.

the only saving grace is Jim White, a consummate professional who has definitely not disappeared up his own arsehole and will not be dining out on 'Transfer Deadline Day' for the rest of his Scottish existence.
  • About 6 weeks ago, KM had a half page interview in a Flemish newspaper, stating that she is always in the middle between the manager, who needs more players , and RD who always claims " you have enough". RD lacks passion ...

Literally the worst day in the football calender.

Crap jokes, annoying coverage, Jim fucking White, Charlton fans embarrassingly shitting their pants for no reason, big clubs buying average players for inflated prices, fake Twitter accounts, Harry fucking Redknapp, Arsenal supporters whining like tarts, 'Breaking News!!!' and fucking Jim poxy fucking White.

Couple of loans and we will be sweet.

Sorry @ValleyGary you were getting lol of the day until...@cfgs stepped in with...

I still think our starting 11 could get us in the play offs. Unfortunately they all need to stay fit for the whole season which is not possible. A winger and a right back would have been great, but not to be. Luzon did say after the game Saturday there wouldn't be any activity. Ok we freed some wages so loans may be possible and we could still bring in pennant. Let's get henderson fit, our strikers fit, cabellos and moussa fit and I think we will be in better shape.

Still would have liked some strengthening though

What's so weird in what I said? Did I slaughter him? Say he was crap etc, etc? No. I only said that pleasant wasn't a word I'd use.
  • Would be happy with pennant for the season & a decent RB if ones available on loan.
We are a bit thin sure but what we have got is good enough to compete.

Yes,disappointingly like last year,a good first 11 and no depth.Makes you think RD is marking time rather than having a plan for the club.

Or that were trying to remain within the FFP criteria

    Can't quite agree there!

Like you and probably Luzon, I was slightly disappointed that we didn't address a couple of positions that we are weak in, but the only lack of depth is at right back and left midfield, but we do have players that can quite easily fill those positions.

When everyone is fit, name your first team and then see who is left for the bench, I'll think you may be surprised how strong we are in depth!

Glad we haven't been held to ransom for players on the most annoying day in the footballing calendar.

Squad is fine imo, couple of loans and that is a good draft of players.
  • If Roland is wondering why we need to get to the Premier League - http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/sep/02/premier-league-tv-riches-too-much-for-european-clubs

Even clubs like Palace etc. are already way out of our league in financial terms. With West Ham and their heavily subsidised OS + TV money this will only get worse.
