Masters 2015

Sport you can't get annoyed about - major golf is back this week. Who are you picking? I've gone for...

Patrick Reed
Jason Day
Patrick Reed
Louis Oosthuizen
Patrick Reed
Angel Cabrera EW
Patrick Reed
Patrick Reed

Jordan Spieth really looks the man to beat though (besides Patrick Reed).

  • Tiger Woods to miss the cut, printing money
  • the masters is a great event

Can't help but fear we will see the end of Tiger this week, reckon this is more like a boxer having one last fight to see if it's over

    Rory for me

Horses for courses, Watson, McIlroy, Spieth and Fowler.

Outside European interest Casey and Dubuisson.
  • If you're talking horses for courses at Augusta then do not be surprised by yet another astonishing performance from old Boom Boom. His Masters record is phenomenal.
  • Time for Sergio to step up.
  • Vijay and oostheizan e/w to be 1st day leader. (neither can hold for for 4 days)

    Kevin Na
    Jim Furyk
    Els
  • One of the best weekends of the year.

Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Jason Day and Rickie Fowler main fancies.

    Casey and Oosthuizen e/w
  • Zach Johnson for me, you don't have to be a big hitter (though it helps) wedge play is key.
Others Brandt Snedeker is coming into form Casey if his putting holds up
  • My e/w bets are going on Ryan Moore and Chris Kirk.
  • If Rory can find some form he'll feature but massive massive weight of expectation on him. Watson and Spieth should be there or thereabouts and Day must surely win a major sometime. Reed is a form horse but hard to like as is JB Holmes who is much more likeable but I suspect may be a little flaky round Augusta. I'll have money on Woods missing the cut and, if the odds are worth it, an American winner.

  • I'm starting to wish Tiger well, but no chance of winning.
  • If Fred Couples is playing, I would throw a bet on him to be in top 10/20 after 2/3 rounds. Every year he is there or there abouts. Otherwise reckon Mcilroy, Reed, Fowler, Dustin Johnson and The Big Easy as an outsider
  • Scott seems to be coming in under the radar this week, but the man has a terrific record at Augusta, and comes to life. Plus his return to the ludicrous long stick he calls a putter.
  • Speith & Stenson to win, Walker & Koepka ew

I'll be surprised if Spieth isn't in the mix come Sunday evening.
  • Speith or Bubba for me. Rory doesnt seem to have got going yet this year, hope he proves me wrong!
  • Adam Scott saves his best for Augusta. New putter, new caddie and most important for all those followers of the "nappy factor" his first baby arrived just weeks ago.

25/1 with Hills for the win and 20/1 for the E/W with Betfair Sportsbook (1/4 the odds 1st 7) will do for me.
  • I know little of Golf but looking at the record of Woods - and accepting all of the issues he's had - I just can't help but feel that he might have one last shot in the locker to shock the world.

    Stop guffawing at the back.....

You just don't win what he has won over the last 20 years without having something very special about you - I would certainly not back heavily against him.

It won't be this week. Augusta punishes even the best short games - he's been doing this sort of thing recently.

  • feel a bit sorry or mcilroy as he is the new tiger ie so much expectation on him so i see spieth ,reed and watson (bubba)as favourites with stenson, casey and rose in the mix for the europeans but the masters is a bit like the grand national ,it throws up a story ...Jamie Donaldson to fall at beechers 2nd time round !

Just got a sneaky feeling Justin Rose might do something....
  • Anyone watching the Par 3 competition?

Rickie Fowler has got his missus on the bag. Oh my dayzzzzzz what a sort.
  • Jack Nicholas ace!
  • One for VG
  • D.Johnson 20/1
    R.Mcllroy 8/1
    J.Walker 25/1
    P.Casey 70/1
    A.Scott 25/1
    P.Mickelson 30/1
  • Went for:

    Fowler
    Garcia
    Kaymer E/W
    Dubuisson E/W

And a last minute bet on Rose!
  • Anyone give me a decent reason why Stenson won't be in the mix?

Expect him to compete. He's been on good form but has had the flu for the last week so he might not be 100%.
