Chris Eagles is signing for #cafc. Should be in squad for tomorrow's game at Wigan.

Hopefully its just from the bench... Would hate to see either Bulot or Gudmundsson dropped after Saturday

    .
  • Not a bad signing if he wants to be here. Adds more depth to the midfield and can chip in with a few goals.
  • Suspect it will be another "deal till the end of the season". Expected us to sign Diarra rather than him as I thought we'd be looking to replace Veljikovic.

Anyway, adds a bit of depth to the squad and looked ok against us for Blackpool.

An additional option upfront and I'll be happy.

    Cousins is the new Veljkovic

Jokes aside, with the stick you get, you deserve the plaudits here Colin. Good scoop.
  • Good signing. Wanted us to have him in the team for years.

Adds some much needed competition to this are of the team.

  • Quite happy with Eagles, adds another option for us and should be looking to impress for a longer contract with us or somewhere else.

I think it's important that there are new faces being added that haven't been bogged down by any of the alleged problems/unhappiness behind the scenes. They'll give a fresher feeling about the place on and off the pitch. I wasn't at the Brentford game, but sounds like Roger Johnson was an example of helping to do this.

Sigh…... Chris Eagles, Robert Johnson, why do we always go for these english journeyman ?

Robert Johnson. How many more Johnsons are we going to sign?
  • Slightly worried that he's a busted flush - looked awful for Blackpool against us I thought. But has been a really good player and has the potential to be a crowd pleaser if he's interested. We'll see but can't do a lot of harm getting him in to prove himself till the end of the season.
  • Happy if we pull of this signing. A good free transfer who knows the league. Done alright in a poor team at Blackpool and chipped in with a goal in 7 apperances there. Bring Cousins in to the middle and it leaves us with 5 Wingers in Wilson, JBG, Bulot, Harriott and Eagles.

Good signing and one we should have gone for a few years back. Hope it's more than a contract until the end of the season or we'll be going through this all again in the summer. It should be about building a squad for the long-term. Fully expect Wilson to on the move asa result of this.

Johnson is 31 and Eagles 29.

    not sure they're journeymen yet.

I think he meant more in terms of number of clubs etc.

What? We've just signed the Blues genius who died in 1938?!

Yeah, but that goal was only against us :-)

Yeah, it's a disgrace when there must be obscure network players (Albanian U21 internationals etc) out there we could have brought in :-)

    Johnson-since 2000, 4 clubs and 2 on loan

    Eagles-since 2003, 4 clubs and 4 on loan

yeah, maybe Eagles does fly the nest a bit.
