Changing your normal behaviour Blaming others for YOUR errors Poor body language Exhibiting nervous behaviour Withdrawl from interfacing with colleagues Prone to irrational outbursts of anger Eating disorders or turning to alcohol/drugs
These are my own opinions, not googled or with benefit of any physchological training but I'm guessing not far from mark.
Am I wrong with these? How many did Pope display?

@harveys gardener Depression and Confidence can seem very similar, your list runs close to the official for confidence, which is below:
This is taken from therapyweb a website dedicated to helping with medical conditions.
- Feeling low or down, which can lead to depression
- Becoming withdrawn from social situations or activities
- Avoiding situations of judgement, such as a competition, and as mentioned above, missing opportunities because they do not feel good enough to succeed.
- Feeling anxious or helpless
- Feeling isolated and lonely
- Feeling unable to cope or manage in certain situations.
- Feeling inadequate to perform certain tasks or skills
I'd say Pope & Etheridge have both displayed these tendancies in bold over the past weeks/months.
He's on a contract until 2018 and the new manager that takes over in the summer might rate him.
Unlike you to be cynical mate just goes to show how many more and more of us are starting to see the liquid below half way in the glass at the moment. A point or three should help to redress this on Saturday. Stranger things have happened.
Pope seems already to have made a difference at Bury.
Before he arrived, their very decent start to the season had crumbled away in November and December. I believe Bury are now unbeaten since Pope's appearances for them, starting with a creditable draw against the League leaders.

In football terms, we are talking about a player becoming uncertain in his decisions and timing - not a complete mental breakdown.
How's he getting on in this latest loan spell?? Getting game time?? Or being on the bench?? Not quite setting the world alight like his last loan spell??
"I think the resurgence has been thanks to Popey (on-loan goalkeeper Nick Pope) coming in. He's outstanding for this league and he looks safe, solid, secure in his work.
He'll be back. He's a very good goalkeeper and it's foolish to write him off after a couple of errors. Future Charlton number one.
Maybe...but Hendo has plenty of years in him and something Pope said recently makes me think he might look for a fresh start soon
That's what I thought when I heard him talking about how he was looking forward to moving up to Bury. He expressed doubts about coming back, saying he didn't know whether the manager would want him or not. Personally I'd like him to have been given the No.1 jersey this season, based on what I've seen of him over the years, all hypothetical now and I believe we 've lost him.
Henderson is a quality keeper and does have many years to come, however we've always been a selling club and a team from the PL will come sniffing (as they did with Elliot and Hamer) at some stage so it would be foolish to write off Pope, a player who the club have put a lot in to. I think he will be our number 1 in the future.
Since Nick Pope got in the Bury team, he has played 8 games and only conceded 5 goals. Bury have only lost once in that time, a defeat to the League Leaders Burton.
I really think Pope has got a good future in front of him. Given Henderson's injury record - his shoulder does seem a problem - would be madness to sell Pope at the moment.
Being named and shamed by Bob probably made him quite glad to pack his bags and go oop north, hopefully he'll feel better about a new manager. He's got so much potential it would, as F82 says, be mad to sell him, his value is sure to increase, and he's got I think 2.5 or 3.5 years left on his contract.

Surely players aren't really that lacking in resilience ? Pope clearly has a lot of talent , but he made some bad errors

He did, but being publicly dug out by the manager afterwards can't have been very helpful. Managers who do this usually lose the dressing room. Ben Haim was old enough and ugly enough to handle it, but Pope is a rookie at this level.
