We've had 3 experienced CBs all season. Onyewu came in when Morrison went out on loan. If his deal isn't extended I expect we'll sign someone else in January.
When is Onyewu's deal up ?
Was signed "until January". I'm assuming that means January 1st.
Morrison is both a leader and mobile. Not quick, granted, but he is mobile in terms of speed of turning/changing direction. Still think it is crazy to let him go. No co-incidence Birmingham's defensive record has improved vastly since he joined.

I was contacted on twatter by a liege fan about Onyewu, as he was expecting him to turn up there in January, this was a few weeks back, before Morrison was signed permanently (From January).

Makes letting Morro go a couple of weeks before that time is up even stranger.
Ever feel like we aren't hearing the whole story ?

Whenever he made mistake his shoulders would clearly slump down - a captain should puff out his chest and lift those around him. Morro also blamed everyone and the linesman.
He's a good defender but is not the only reason for Brums tighter defence - Rowett takes a lot of credit for that
I seem to remember us connected with a promising young Belgian CB some months ago. Perhaps he is one of the five in and why Onyewu only signed until January and Morro let go?

Think you probably mean the Dutch defender Nick Kuipers?
Michael Morrison has put pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year contract with Blues. The deal for the former Charlton Athletic defender had been agreed last month during what was a successful loan spell at St. Andrew's.
Morrison had previously been Charlton's vice-captain and made 150 appearances for the South London side after joining them in 2011 from Sheffield Wednesday.
Speaking after reaching an agreement with the 26-year-old last month, boss Gary Rowett said: "He sees the size of the club and sees that his opportunities are possibly limited back at Charlton. What’s quite refreshing is that he’s a player that really wants to play football and that’s of paramount importance to him.
"It’s been great to get him on board. We’re really happy about it and we think he’s a really good signing. He’s the right age, the right character and it’s the right time of his career and really good for us.
"I’ve been delighted with his performances so far and like I’ve said previously he’s kept two very good centre-halves out of the team. It was an obvious one for us to try and extend further."
Morrison's loan from Charlton was further extended to encompass Saturday's FA Cup tie at Blyth Spartans. He captained the side to a 3-2 third round victory.
Then all the paperwork was finalised and lodged with the Football League to make the transfer permanent.
Three and a half years ? Wow, not many of those contracts being handed out at Championship level. Clearly Brum think they've got themselves a good player for both now and the future.
Good luck to him and I think we might live to regret this one.
Check transfermarkt in a month or two - they might have a number which might be close? Their numbers for Stephens and Kermorgant (£1m combined) proved to be fairly accurate in the end. As long as we extend TBH then I don't see it as a problem. Gomez. TBH and Bikey are sound - we need better elsewhere to step up next season... Just my take
Shows what a poor appointment Bob Peeters was. He actually thought Onyewu is better than Morrison? To think that Roland got rid of Riga to appoint someone with that level of judgement.........................

I notice Sky doesn't say it was a "free."
